Very satisfied with the Palazzo Magnani Feroni. The staff was very accommodating with our luggage, storing it while we spent a last few hours in Florence before our departure. The breakfast room staff were pleasant and attentive. The hotel is set within an old Palazzo, so the furnishings and layout were quite unique. We stayed in the family suite, which worked well for us. I recommend this suite for couples traveling together. There are two or three nearby restaurants that I highly recommend - Il Santo Bevitore and Trattoria Angolino.

Like always, the Palazzo Magnani Feroni was fantastic -- wonderful place and rooms decorated artistically and comfortably, wonderful and helpful staff, wonderful rooftop bar with unmissable views, and a wonderful breakfast. A Florence gem.

Palazzo Magnani Feroni is magic.

Starting with the property itself, it is magnificent: from ballrooms to a billiards room, and from renaissance courtyards to a roof top terrace / with great views of the Duomo to the North and to the south side of the Arno River looking towards Giardino Di Bobloli and Piazzale Michelangelo. The terrace was open all day to relax. In the evening, the bar opens to enjoy magnificent sunsets and Florence at night.

My wife I were in an exclusive Suite overlooking the courtyard, It had a fireplace, dining area, living room and master bedroom. The room came with CDs of traditional Italian music and a soap box to choose a scent. Classy touch! Also in multiple areas throughout the Palazzo were Nespresso stations, water, ice and cookies.

What puts this hotel over the top is the service. White glove service literally. From personally prepared omelets in a grand dining room to the expert and personal attention to any request. Francesca and front desk team's recommendations for activities, restaurants, or just great pizza or gelato were spot on.

October was a great time to visit (crowds and weather-wise) but anytime would be a step into another time and place where you wont want to leave!

One of the best hotel I’ve visited. This hotel is situated in the old Florence´s palace, close to the main monuments, with great atmosphere and very useful staff. The roof top bar is lovely place for night drink. Excellent breakfast is the best start of the day.

We were hunting for a nice place to stay in Florence , and this looked like a real gem , however it really was way past our usual budget , but it looked like we were in for a treat so we booked.
We loved the location and the pictures ( old ones ) of the sumptuous suites.
First off - the staff were very good and Emanuel ( not sure if I spelt that right ) on the roof top bar was incredibly professional and engaging.
The hotel is on a fairly busy street , and across the river from the city centre , but this is just a short walk , so no real problems.
OK , its an old building , and that's a given , and I understand it received some refurb work in about 1999. The hotel also apparently changed hands recently , and the new owners appear to have been left with a mountain to climb.
Excusing the age of the structure is one thing , but broken ( sharp ) floor tiles , chipped plates and dishes , chipped glass/crystal candle holders etc etc make things tired and shabby when you are being charged top dollar.
The breakfast was dire , and the lack of cooling in the breakfast room for perishables was frightening .I'm sorry but a couple of floor fans just don't cut it. Also , please fix the door to the breakfast hall as the panes of glass are falling out and the timber frayed and splintered.Coupled to this was food that was drying out ( cut fruit , cucumber , cheese , hard stale bread etc ) and a waiter that disappeared and stayed in the side room for prolonged periods.
The aircon really needs attention everywhere , as does the damaged and broken bathroom fittings that appear to have received temporary repairs.
Don't put your towels on the towel holder on the floor as it will topple over and clout you on the foot if you are not careful.
Wifi is free , but patchy , and who wants to go into a public corridor just to make a cup of coffee ?
I could go on , but lets be positive.
The staff are great , the location good , and the advice given spot on.
Visit the roof terrace and look at the view , not many use this facility after climbing 8 flights of narrow stairs , but it is worth it.
The beds were comfy , the rooms clean and spacious.
However - Is this 5 star - I'm sorry but NO.
Just because a gentleman that looks like he came from England's colonial past and has a burgundy jacket on and white gloves does not make up for the short comings of this hotel.Nor does it justify the star rating.
I really want to award more stars , and says lots of good things , but this hotel really needs to take a long hard look at its self , and its position in the market , as its too expensive and not a 5 star standard.

Room tip: Get a room away from the road
