We stayed here in July 2011. It's funny how you can read a bad review on one particular room of a hotel and tell yourself, well the rest of the review are OK, What are the odds that I'll end up with that room, a lot higher than you think apparently. Well there is one room in this hotel that is described pretty actually as a horrible room with thread bare carpet way to many stairs etc. but the hotel tell you that they are upgrading you which when they unlock the first door to your room and all you see is a very narrow stair case that seems to go forever, you know that, that so called upgrade is a lie. The housekeepers must hate cleaning these rooms because everything must be carried by hand up multiple stair cases and locked doors before you get to the bedroom. This is all true BUT after laughing your head off for a good 10 minutes you realise that, it actually is a GREAT multi storey apartment with two floors the first has a lounge, balcony, toilet and shower and the next level has a walk in wardrobe, sitting area, a large bedroom and bathroom. Apart from the first very dangerous set of stairs especially when the power goes out during the middle of the night and it is totally black and the only way out is on your hands and knees and bum just to get to the rest of the hotel were they have emergency lighting in the hallways but not your stairwell which has no windows or light. Anyway it is still a great room to have, it has great views and a very private outside balcony that was perfect to hang up and dry your clothes which in any other room you can not do because it would be seen by everyone and the hotel would object, yes the unlucky housecleaning staff do a great job cleaning it but it needs a makeover. Yes the room still makes me laugh but it also added a great storey to our holiday and I would stay in the same room again. You use the same facilities and breakfast with very on else but once in your room it is totally like your somewhere else altogether, very quite and those views of the city are great.
