We stayed four nights at the Hotel Jane. It was comfortable and clean. The bedroom was an adequate size although the bathroom was a bit on the small size.
There were a few minor maintenance problems in our room,(34). the basin plug was of the lever type, but the lever was missing, this made it very difficult to get the plug out, also the plug did not seal very well, wasting water when washing. Secondly, the toilet flush only worked on the main flush and the wall plate cover fell of if you were not careful. Last but not least, we could not get the air conditioning unit to work. Attempting to get these issues across seemed difficult due to our lack of Italian.
Otherwise the beds were comfortable and the chambermaid was efficient.
There was an in room fridge bar, also a kettle, cups and tea bags (no coffee). If you wanted milk you needed to request some from the bar.
We just bought a jar of instant coffee and a pint of milk from the nearby local supermarket.
The breakfast was of the continental style, but proved adequate for us with a fair
selection of cold meats, breads, cereal, yogurts, etc.
The only thing is the hotel is a fair walk of about 2 miles to the main attractions in Florence, as it is situated in the suburbs. There are a selection of bars and restaurants nearby, albeit they only have limited fayre on offer.
