My boyfriend and I stayed here for 4 days, so close to train station and just 5 minutes from the center. I lived on this street years ago for a semester, so I chose it on purpose as I felt safe and close enough to the city without being in the noisy crowded heart of it. The room was very clean, the bathtub/shower was fabulous, and there is a little balcony on the 1st floor where we sat surrounded by flowers eating cheese and wine we had picked up during the day at an organic market. The staff was extremely helpful, they arranged a taxi for us and even came out to the street to explain they way we wanted to go, and on top of that they offered free umbrellas which was also a great help! Cappuccino every morning was great!

Lovely hotel with a great location, very near the train station which was our arrival point and a 10-15 minute walk to the "downtown/tourist" area of Florence. Deluxe room on the 1st floor very large and immaculate. Well worth the few extra Euros. Front desk staff was extremely friendly and helpful (ordered our tickets with no waiting at the Uffizi and the Accademia). Would have given it 5 points if not for the mediocre breakfast. There wasn't any fresh fruit and a limited variety of cereal and pastries. Great cappuccino but don't ask for seconds as it is an extra charge. That being said, we would recommend it and most likely stay there again if we were to return to Florence. The hotel's restaurant which is a few blocks from the property was worth the short walk. The restaurant was beautiful and the food was great.
Just a hint about the train station. There are many stairs to get to the street level if you exit on the right, which is the direction to get to the hotel. Not conducive to wheeling luggage. There are elevators and escalators that bring you to an underground area with a ramp to the street level, neither of which were working.
The "Zerbs" from NY

Room Tip: deluxe worth the extra Euros

We were a large group traveling together and all ended up staying on the same floor - around the small terrace. Our room was large and clean. We had a small balcony looking onto the ally and surrounding building so we were able to watch locals making dinner, hanging out washing etc.
The terrace was a wonderful place for us to meet for a glass of wine and to make plans. We enjoyed being able to sit outside and enjoy the Florence dusk.
The staff were helpful with laundry, restaurant recommendations and assistance with maps and directions.

The hotel has an elevator which was a great help with luggage and the older members of our group. It also offers a good breakfast. We enjoyed the breakfast however missed some fresh fruit. We were not expecting a full English breakfast like some travelers so were happy with the choices.

Everything in Florence is close so location is never a real problem but the proximity to the train station and the centre is great.

We enjoyed this hotel and their restaurant.

This small 3-star hotel, located just west of Santa Maria Novella in central Florence, provides spotless accommodations and attentive service. The people at the front desk were extremely helpful in arranging tickets for us, providing directions and restaurant recommendations, and even encouraging my efforts to speak in Italian. We booked a triple room, which provided a nice separation between the parents bed and the third bed for our teenager and two windows overlooking a quiet side street, looking out over red-tiled rooftops. The morning cappucino was excellent, and accompanied by a nice buffet of croissants, rolls, boiled eggs, ham, cheese, yogurt, juices, and condiments. Everyone was very friendly and helpful and we looked forward to returning "home" at the end of a busy day. The family also runs a Ristorante Trattoria around the corner, La Carabaccia, where we were welcomed with grace (and prosecco! and a discount for hotel guests) for a lovely dinner. My husband tried the boar!

The location of the hotel is excellent, in easy walking distance to all the major sights in Florence, but also close to areas you might not get to if you were right at the Ponte Vecchio, such as the antiques and hand-made artisan stores in the streets around the Borgo Ognissante.

Room Tip: The triple on the top (third) floor had a nice view over the rooftops.

We had a beautiful stay in this lovely hotel. The room is big and very clean. The staff was excellent, very friendly and helpfull. The breakfast was good, and the best espresso ever! We also loved the trattoria from the same owner, La Carabaccia. We will come back for sure.

It was an impromptu trip to Florence and by the time we reached the hotel it was already evening. We were offered a good deal for two triple rooms. From the outside we expected an outdated hotel. But to our suprise the room was well refurbished - clean and neat. The bathroom was clean and spotless. I love most the towels - hugh bath towels that were so soft even compared to same known chain hotels. Staffs was helpful. The location was good - walking distrance to main attractions and a stone throw from the Santa Maria Novella train station. A word of caution - if you are a light sleeper, avoid the front rooms as the sound of the traffic could be a nuisance at times.

The hotel is a stone's throw away from the central station and (almost) all attractions of Florence are in walking distance. The rooms are small but nice and clean. Unfortunately the friendliness and helpfulness of the front desk staff is very variable and sometimes extremely unfriendly if not rude!
