This can be safely rated as the worst experience ever. We checked in to the hotel around 4 pm and were not given the type of room that we reserved. We expressed this and were sent for a walk so they could figure out how to find an appropriate room. Hardly acceptable after a long trip. Due to this, we went to bed extremely late. Even though we were exhausted, the beds were so uncomfortable that no one in the family was able to get decent rest. When we spoke to the hotel management the following day, regarding this, the owner of the hotel stated that the beds were hard on one side and soft on the other. All that was needed was to flip the mattress. We asked to be released from the reservation due to the fact that we were uncomfortable and this following the horrible check in experience. After a second night of being unable to rest on the mattresses that were of the utmost discomfort, we contacted Hotels.com about releasing the reservation. Hotels.com stated that it was at the discretion of the hotel administration. The hotel owner insisted that hotels.com had to cancel the voucher for 4 nights and make a new one for 2 nights. Hotels.com stated that the hotel had already used the internal system to debit the hotel stay. The hotel owner, denied having this. Ultimately, hotels.com confirmed that the hotel owner was being untruthful. The owner even admitted that he did not want to forfeit the complete 4 nights of hotel stay. All he cares about is money. STAY AWAY from this hotel.

Good hotel in a great location
We stayed for 2 days. The rooms were quite spacious for what we are used to in centrally located 3-4 star European hotels. The Accademia is just north of our hotel. The Duomo was less than 5 min walking distance. The AC was adequate for the warm days. Bathroom looks new and renovated.

Breakfast was OK but limited choices. The staff was friendly and very helpful, which made a whole lot of difference. They understand guest's needs and concerns. We had an early train to catch and the reception scheduled a wake-up call for the next morning and called a taxi which picked our family up promptly the next day for the train station.

We stayed for 2 days at this hotel with a family of 5. They placed us in 2 adjacent rooms, one of which had a grand view of the Brunelleschi’s dome. The rooms were quite spacious for what we are used to in centrally located 3-4 star European hotels. The Accademia is just north of our hotel. The Duomo was less than 5 min walking distance. The AC was adequate for the warm days. Breakfast was good. Due to its close location to the important sites of Florence, I would stay here again.

We stayed two nights and it was in the perfect part of Florence rt between Accademia and the Doumo. Staff were very friendly- it would help if they could give restaurant recommendations. The room was clean and we had a balcony (unfortunately it was raining). I would definitely stay here again.

Room tip: Stay on same floor as the reception area

Extremely rude staff, food quality is bad. The entire place smells pathetic. It seems like a budgeted hotel but it’s bad. It’s no where even close to 1 star hotel. It’s old and filthy. There is barely any staff and totally unsafe. I would suggest you to shell out a bit more money rather than staying in filth. Thank you.
Rooms are way too small and the breakfast is bad.
