“An excellent hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 28, 2012

Hotel Rapallo, recently refurbished, is immaculate throughout with good facilities. Staying there recently for eight nights we had a top-floor room which, at no great extra cost, had a terrace. Breakfasts were excellent and all the staff friendly, helpful and well-informed. Many thanks to Lorenzo, Mauro, Claudia and others for helping us have a splendid holiday.

my dear sir,
I have only one regret, that of not being able to talk for longer with a person of so much culture and education as you are. It 's really been a great pleasure to serve you from all of us. The past eight days have flown together, with a sorrow that will riapagato only on the day that we will see you again enter our hotel in which you have found your home in the center of Florence.
Greetings to you and your family

My wife and I booked this hotel based on tripadvisor reviews and it's location.

It was quite close to the main station of Florence, Firenze Santa Maria Novella. We could walk to the hotel from the station. It took about 20 minutes along a crowded lane but definitely do-able.

Our good experience started even before we reached the hotel. We got an email from the hotel thanking us for booking and noting our special requirements. They offered us a variety of options like champagne, fruits and champagne, etc... They had clearly mentioned the prices as well.

Before reaching the hotel, we emailed the hotel requesting them to make a reservation at the Gallerie Accademia to see Michelangelo's David. Mr. Lorenzo was very prompt and made a reservation for us even before we reached Florence. Once we checked in, we dropped off the luggage in the room and went out for lunch.

The hotel room was very spacious by European standards and the free Wi-Fi was quite fast and worked without a hitch.

The hotel gave us a basket of fruits as a "gift". The bed was very comfortable and we slept very well all 3 nights.

We stayed here for 3 nights and I would say this was one of the best hotels we stayed in throughout our Italy trip.

They had free cookies and coffee and tea in the living room throughout the day.

If I had to crib, I would say that they should have some more options for breakfast. They didnt have any sausages or bacon and I missed this. The best part was that unlike most other hotels who have only hard european bread, this hotel also had the regular slices of white bread which is more palatable to us Indians.

Also, the location is a little far from the main sights like the Piazza Della Signoria and the main Cathedral of Florence. It takes about 20 minutes of brisk walking to reach the cathedral and an additional 10 mins to reach the Palazzo Vecchio.

All in all, this was a really nice hotel.

many people compliment us for answers to customers, and the fact that we answer it. but how do you not respond to comments so beautiful and so important? I think it is moving to read the words of Indian, Australian, Chinese people so far who shared in my house a good experience. dear friend, for us the Indian customers is all about discovery, is fascinating, and I know how much humility I must learn to be able to serve in the best way. I am glad that even though for the little we know, your stay with us was good for you and it's a good memory. I hope that soon you will return to Florence.
a warm greeting

My wife and I have travelled extensively and occasionally one comes across an unexpected gem, The Rapallo is one of these. From the time we arrived we have experienced only excellent service and the hotel's excellent location is an additional bonus. The breakfast is by far the best we have had at any hotel in Italy to date and they will pack you a meal to take along if you so wish.
English TV news channels were a surprise as well - we were feeling rather starved for news after more than a week in Italy.
Hotel Rapallo will definitely be our choice should we return to Florence in the future.

Room Tip: We had room 102 which is kitted out for wheel chair access to the bathroom

We stayed for a week at the Rapallo and it was absolutely wonderful. The rooms are beautifully furnished, beds comfortable, breakfast good and the staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. It is a 20-25 minute walk to the Duomo and the Arno but doesn't seem too far, and San Lorenzo and the Medici chapel, San Marco, and Santa Maria Novella are all about 15 minutes away on foot. And if you do get a bit tired on the walk back to the hotel, there is usually coffee or cold drinks waiting for you in the lounge, often with cakes and canapés!
Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anybody, it made the holiday really special!

thanks for your comment, with a good map in hand, and some of my modest suggestion, it is easy to understand the great location of our hotel. and read with pleasure that after a nice visit to our city to our customers like to relax with a coffee or a wine tasting and cheese. I look forward to the next round

Stayed for three nights, apart from the bin emptying at 6 am just outside our window and some noise from the air conditioning/plumbing, I could not fault the hotel. All city centres have some noise and this certainly wasn't unacceptable. Very good service, breakfast, and room. While all Florence hotels are expensive this was good value in comparison with what else was on offer. Would certainly recommend it and would stay again.

We stayed at the Rapallo 2 nights and would do it again anytime! None of the hotels in Florence are cheap, but we really felt we got our money's worth during our stay. The staff were extremely helpful,, and our room was immaculate. This hotel is conveniently located near everything, albeit not in the historic center. The shower pressure was the best part... it was amazing! Free apples, tea, and snacks throughout the day. Breakfast was almost like a 5-star buffet, unless you're looking for a heart-attack meal including scrambled eggs and bacon. Do not fall into the trap of staying at a 5 star boutique hotel. The Rapallo has everything you need.
