“Excellent Pizza”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 19, 2012

First of all excellent position and very busy, which we took as a good sign. The waiter was very brusque and tried to chivy us into ordering within a few minutes of taking a seat. Once I apologised for taking some time to choose our food, he softened a little in his attitude!

Initially the drinks looked very pricey, however the large beer at 11 euros a glass is the biggest glass I have ever seen and must be over a litre so not as bad as initially thought. They have wines in half bottles about 10 euros which, for its position on the square, is very reasonable. The house white and red were perfectly adequate. I don't think you can go wrong with the house wines when in such a region!!

We wanted a pizza hence choosing a pizzeria and we were not disappointed with the quality. Can recommend the atomico for the spicy food lovers amongst us.

However I ordered the seafood pizza and promptly removed the mussels as I had a distinct feeling they did not taste right, almost dirty. However the other seafood tasted ok.

We did not fancy a menu dessert so we asked for cantucci and il santo which the waiter was keen to serve us when we enquired about it.

All in all the atmosphere was carried along by the square, a band was playing a mixture of classical and contemporary music, when mixed with the warm evening air, pizza and wine made for a memorable evening.

I would eat here again, just be wary of the mussels!!

I'm sorry for mussels, but sometimes when they're fresh (we order fresh every morning!)it's not easy to remove all sand inside, but if you told us we can change the pizza..I'm sorry for this:next time promise to tell us immediately if something is wrong and we'll do our best to satisfy you!
Waiting for you in Florence...

“Expensive, but food was delicious!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 28, 2012

Was in quite a rush, and ate here as it was central and looked quite busy. Think it was a bit of a tourist trap. The gorgonzola pizza was absolutely amazing however cost me almost $30! Service was quite slow which was frustrating too!

“Just ok and very expensive”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 18, 2012 via mobile

We had gnocchi, a pasta dish, and a pizza, and only the pizza was really "good". The other two plates were mostly eaten but not really enjoyed that much. The gnocchi didn't taste fresh and the pasta was sitting in about 1/4 cup of oil and had quite gristly ham in it. What really caught our attention was that a glass of soda cost €5! 44 euros for a small lunch for three is too much, especially since it wasn't that good. The service was attentive, but one of our plates came out 10 minutes after the other two...

“Adequate food but very over priced”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 16, 2012 via mobile

Apart from having high prices we were charged 14% service charge even though it was written there was no such charges. Food was not bad but not worth it.

“Nice place for a scenic lunch”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 16, 2012

We had lunch at this place located right on Piazza de Signoria. A fresh salad was large and delicious and the pizza Napoli was fresh tasting and quite good. While dining we were able to gaze upon the statues in the square and adjacent Loggia dei Lanzi which is at the end of the Uffizi Gallery. It’s not cheap (our salad, pizza, and a bottle of wine were 34 euro), but the food is good and the scenery is very nice.
