Wonderful old world hotel with modern conveniences. You cannot be better located in Florence. Terrific, helpful staff. Only drawback may be the buffet breakfast eggs which aren't really suited to an American taste. My wife's pancakes fared better, but plenty of good fruit. If you can, get a junior suite with a view of the Duomo. Though expensive, this hotel just added to the magic of this beautiful city

Room Tip: A junior suite with a view is costly, but a lovely extravagance.

This was our second visit to the Bernini Palace, our previous some three years ago. The hotel has just about the best location of any hotel in Florence being just a stones throw from the Piazza d Signora, the Uffizi and Palazzo Vecchio and is a big drawcard for us. Our room on the 5th floor was a good size and very quite with double aspect windows. Breakfast taken at this hotel is a good experience with a good range of fresh food served in the unique environment of the Sala Parlamento, the site of early Italian parliament meetings. The bar in the foyer of the hotel is a welcome refuge after a busy day wandering the streets and gardens of Florence and its surrounds. We would not stay anywhere else when in Florence. For dinner within the city of Florence we have eaten at La Posta restaurant around 5 times thus far during our various visits and the quality of the food and wine list has not diminished one iota since our first visit in 2007, for an al fresco seat then I recommend you book as we did for my wife's birthday.

My husband and I chose the Bernini Palace for our first trip to Florence. We were not disappointed! The hotel is centrally located and within walking distance to anything of importance you want to see in this beautiful city. Our room was beautifully decorated with a very large bath that had not only a tub with shower, but a walk in shower as well. The breakfast room was magnificent with delicious offerings and menu service as well. The front desk could not have been more accommodating when we asked for directions and suggestions. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying the Florence. Thank you for making our stay a memorable one.

We stayed in the Bernini Palace Hotel for four nights in mid-May. This is a wonderful hotel, centrally located to Florence. It is just a short walk to the Santa Croce Piazza, the Uffizi, the Duomo, Ponte Vecchio. Rooms were nice, quiet, beds comfortable, nice bathrooms with hair dryers. Breakfast was great too - excellent coffee and fresh squeezed juices and a large selection of food. The hotel itself if beautiful, we very much enjoyed staying here and would recommend it to others. One thing I appreciated was the helpfulness of the front desk. They made excellent suggestions for lunch and dinner (check out Ristorante Paoli) and proactively called to make reservations. Also, we were dealing with lost luggage from our flight into Rome a few days earlier. Between not speaking Italian and not having a cell phone to make calls, we were worried that our luggage was lost forever. But the front desk was able to call, locate the luggage, and have it delivered to the hotel - a real lifesaver! The only con for this property is their internet service - it is not the best and if you are planning to work remotely while traveling, this may not be a good option. Overall, great experience!

This was our first hotel experience in Italy. The day starts in a room that is distinctive and furnished with comfortable and unusual furniture. The linens and the bedding are a treat. Then it is off to the beautiful breakfast room with an Italian buffet and a responsive staff if you want to use the menu. Very lovely place with helpful staff. The online photos do not do the room justice.

The location is just right for those who want a walking experience in Florence. The out of doors and interior wonders of Florence are close enough that you have some energy left in the afternoon for a retail experience in the local neighborhood!

The local neighborhood is a retail delight. The Italian gold, leather, silk and women's retail options are not the “same old same old.” In the smallest shops you can find local creations that you will not meet on the street back home. When you return to you hotel you enter a sophisticated but friendly lobby with a bar that is open whenever you want something to add to your lobby experience.

The laundry service was especially good. The clothes were well done and returned wrapped almost like gifts.

We would return.

Room Tip: Do not wait until the last minute. Work with the staff. They want to be of service. After all, yo...

I am just back from a three day break in florence, where we stayed at the Bernini Palace hotel. The location of the hotel was great but sadly that was about the only thing that was good.

The first night we had the joys of power cuts into our hotel only. This was still the case for the next morning when I was woken at 0630 by the sounds of the kitchen staff smashing pots about and screaming about having no power to cook with.

Breakfast was awful the first morning which without power was understandable. The hotel could not use this excuse for the following two days though, as the breakfast selection was no different unless you wanted to pay an additional fee ( on top of the breakfast fee already paid for ) for a limited selection of hot food.

Most disappointing was the attitude of the staff. To say arrogance an rude is me being polite. Very disappointed with the whole experience from the deluxe room to the so called service. I genuinely wish I had selected another hotel for our stay. I could go on about many other factors from view to cleanliness, but I won't. Certainly not what you would expect from a 5 star hotel.
