Lovely hotel apart from the air con didn't work and I had to ask for more pillows! The room was clean but quite small and didn't have a bath but it had a balcony looking out accross the river which was fab( and it meant we could have the patio doors open during the night). The staff were nice and the breakfast was good. The location was brilliant for all the main attractions. I recommend the hop on hop off bus which took us all over the place. The Michael Angelo museum was massive and very interesting. The Dali exhibition was in town and I loved it. The Duomo is amazing - 460 steps were worth doing! We took a train to Pisa and went up the Leaning Tower.. more steps! brilliant. By going there on the train the trip cost half of what the tour would have. Favourite restaurant was Enoteca Boccadama on Piazza Santa Croc I had a Spinach and Parmesan started that was one of the tastiest things that I have ever eaten and I am a pudding fan so that surprised me! There is also a good cocktail bar there and the barman is great fun!

Room Tip: have a balcony

My husband and I stayed here during our honeymoon and chose this hotel based on the lovely location on the river (and the price). Although our tastes lean towards modern, we were really impressed by the hotel room we walked into!

It had a huge window with beautiful views, a living room and a staircase to a loft bedroom. It even had two full bathrooms. It really felt like a palace or something. We must have been given a generous upgrade because it was much nicer than we imagined.

I won't go in to details, but when my husband came down with a traveler's bug, we couldn't have hoped for a more comfortable room to be stuck in while he recovered!

Seriously, we still talk about what a grand place we stayed at in Florence!

Even without the upgrade to a grander room, I would still say the views and the convenient location would make it a hotel I would recommendation to friends and family.

We stayed here a few years ago and were very happy with the service. We had contacted the hotel when we were planning our trip and asked for advice on transportation from the train station, help securing museum tickets, and recommendations on touring some of the sights. When we arrived tickets were waiting for us and all of their recommendations were spot on. The folks at the front desk were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the restaurants they recommended and even passed those recommendations on to some friends who were equally pleased. We recently recommended the Plaza Lucchesi to some more friends for an upcoming trip. Much to our surprise their parents had also stayed at the hotel and had been very satisfied as well.

Room Tip: The river view rooms are also right along the street which is busy in the morning. The city side ha...

Nice hotel, nice breakfast, helpful employees just a 5-10 minutes walk to the cathedral... also about 10 minutes to the bridge Vecchio... Quite satisfied with the hotel - only the dust cleaning is a little problem.
Just the dust cleaning was a problem.... if you leave something on the table you'll have to swipe of the dust from it; Otherwise everything was clean and hygienic .... it's only miss out on dust cleaning.
The only thing to say is: Be prepared for invasion of Tourists - the city is FULL of people (at least it was end of March). Good places to eat for Saturday or Friday rather recommendable to place a reservation - no matter if lunch or dinner.
Also be aware that in all over the main streets and places you'll find loads of Indian / Pakistan People selling umbrellas or roses - and Romanian (supposingly) asking for money. Homeless at the Trainstation and even in the trains you'll be asked for money - just be prepared - seems to be an Italian problem these days.

Upgraded on arrival to a large room with a terrific view of the Arno. Everyone we encountered on the hotel staff was friendly, helpful and prompt. The concierge was the best we've had the pleasure of staying with anywhere (including at very high end hotels) -- arranging spa visits at Terme di Montecatini and front row opera tickets, both on very short notice. We'd asked him just to determine if there were any opera tickets available the afternoon of -- and had a lovely surprise when we arrived, particularly considering the house was full. Breakfast was nice -- both hot and cold items. Bed was very comfortable. Restaurant recommendations were terrific. And hotel is easy and pleasant walking distance from all the sites. Would definitely return.

We stayed at the Plaza Lucchesi for 3 nights. This hotel is splendid. The rooms are immaculate and the hotel is an easy distance to all sights in Florence. Our room was plenty spacious and very quiet. The balcony was lovely as was the seating area from which you could enjoy the view on a rainy afternoon!

The lighting in the room was excellent. With three people, with different sleep habits, I have to say this was the best laid out room with lighting that we have ever stayed in. It was entirely possible to read etc while others slept without causing a disturbance bc of the way the light fixtures were set up in th room.

The breakfast buffet was absolutely terrific. Every day the offerings changed slightly so you were never bored. Lovely view from breakfast area with once again plenty of room so you never felt crowded.

Front desk was efficient and very knowledgable with great suggestions on touring sites as well as cabs etc.

We cannot recommend this hotel enough!!! FABULOUS!

A 4 star hotel with a 3 Star price tag. Excellent all round. Good clean hotel with excellent service. The choice of breakfast menu very good.

The location is ideal next to the river but still close enough to the bars and places to eat.
