We have just finished our 5 night stay at this wonderful hotel. I can't begin to tell you how much we enjoyed every part of our visit. From the moment we checked in we were well taken care of. Every request was granted quickly and with a smile. We always felt comfortable and at ease. The location can NOT BE BEAT, right in the center of everything. The room was awesome. Housekeeping was terrific. Breakfast staff was the best we had in Italy. I would return again and again. Wish we were there now!

Hotel Calzaiuoli is in a great location - close to the cathedral, great shops and a tonne of restaurants. The hotel itself is small. The rooms however are quite large. They are a little dated and we found the bathroom a bit odd (shower didn't really have closed walls so it was more a wet room). The staff were generally helpful if you needed it. Breakfast selection was small but not too bad. Given you don't spend much time in the hotel, I'd recommend it for the location.

This hotel was located right in the heart of Florence on a large walking mall. Couple blocks from the cathedral, Dante's home and church, and all the attractions. All in walking distance. Even a small grocery store 2 blocks away. We walked to hotel from train and that was a little long with a roller bag. Cost from hotel to train station was 15 euro. The nightly attractions in the plaza were fun with musicians, mimes, and artists. But the plaza shuts down at about 11PM.

We booked through Gate1 Travel. The room was small as expected but very comfortable. Wifi great and working in the room.Bed was comfy and was all was great. The breakfast was great and nice was to fill up. I would definitely stay here again. Here is a fun tip. Before going to Florence, read the new Dan Brown book Inferno. It describes to sites around Florence in amazing detail and from the hotel you can walk to all those secret sites in the book and see they are really there. It made the trip even more enjoyable.

Room Tip: We stayed on the second floor on the street side. It was noisy until 11PM when the street performers...

The hotel could not have a better location. We asked for a quiet room and were lucky to get a beautiful view, spacious room and quiet area. Only our initial clerk (Nicolai) was rude, which we think was mostly because we were women and he was more attentive to men. Everyone following him was beyond gracious. They helped us with every detail of our trip and made it a wonderful, welcoming place. We were glad we did not judge the whole stay by our first experience, as everyone else was great and management was attentive to our bad first impression.
This place was outstanding. I would definitely stay her on our next trip.

We stayed in Suite 223B for three days. The suite was very nice (contemporary elegant and very spacious). You absolutely cannot beat this hotel's location (just don't try to drive there yourself if you're coming to Florence by car. Park in a parking garage on the outskirts and cab it in.). Basically, the hotel is midway between Palazzo Vecchio and the Duomo, each being about 2-3 minutes walk. Stores, restaurants and sights galore.

Staff were very attentive and friendly. Breakfast was included and nicely prepared and attended. Great capucinnos (but then again, you're in Italy). If there was one thing the hotel could change, it would be to have a restaurant for lunch and dinner. They would, no doubt, execute it with quality. However, given your location, there is NO shortage of restaurants of all types and levels in a 5 minute walk.

Highly recommend it.

Room Tip: Go for a suite if you're staying more than one night.

We stayed at the Calzaiuoli Hotel for four nights in June. It's a modern hotel with a lot of charm. The staff was helpful and friendly, and the breakfasts were very nice. Our room was modern and large, very well-lit. The hotel is in a perfect location, on a pedestrian-only street located a block from the Duomo (cathedral), two blocks from the Ufizzi Gallery, and a five minute walk from the Ponte Vecchio. Plus there are four gelato shops within a one block radius. We were able to walk to the above-mentioned attractions, plus the Jewish synagogue. In a first for us, the hotel e-mailed us after our return to the states, thanking us for choosing the Calzaiuoli and hoping we had had a wonderful time. Indeed, we did.

We stayed at this hotel at the end of May for 3 nights, while traveling through Italy and France.
The location was excellent, very close to the Duomo and walking distance to the Ponte Vecchio.
The rooms are large, comfortable, and luxurious, with lovely double-pane windows with views onto the main shopping street. The room was slightly noisy at night, because of the street view, but we wore ear plugs....There were wonderful care packages in the bathroom including a toothbrush with toothpaste, and shaver!! The bathroom was huge by European standards.
The WiFi connection was free, fast and excellent!
I will certainly return again because of the fantastic location and room comfort !!

Room Tip: Loved room 220, but it is a street view and is quite noisy at night
