This was your typical Novotel in its room layout, service, standards, and everything you'd come to expect from this chain. It wasn't as sparkling perfect as others I'd stayed at elsewhere in Europe (Paris, for instance), but it was very good considering the range of hotels available in Italy (and how widely they range in quality, even within star level standards). An excellent value for the price. It's very easy to find and get to from the autostrade, which I greatly appreciated, and they also offer free parking in the front of the hotel- which is a rare and cherished commodity in Italia! The staff were very friendly and helpful and went out of their way to accomodate our family. The breakfast was a great selection, and I appreciated that children eat breakfast free there. The only complaint I have was that there was nothing for dining (or much else at all) in the surrounding area, leaving us with a decision between the hotel's restaurant and McDonald's. The restaurant was very subpar (I feel bad for anyone whose only Italian food experience in Italy was this restaurant!) and overpriced. Living in Italy for years, I felt very ripped off by the food they served us at the prices they charged. However, they can only do what they can with what they have, and even the restaurant staff were extremely friendly, helpful, and accommodating (there was a menu discrepancy & they whipped me up something off-menu though they hadn't served it in years). My only advice is to be sure to eat your lunch & dinner out in Florence or wherever you're headed (the breakfast at the hotel is great!). Otherwise, this hotel has absolutely no problems in my eyes!
