MIsled by its name, I always thought Dolce Vegan was a vegan patisserie... But today I finally had the chance to try it for lunch and I was pleasantly surprised! The place is nice, cozy and bright, differently from what you expect from a vegan/vegetarian restaurant in Florence, normally so intentionally colorless and a bit depressing... Also the guests are far from the middle-aged grey-haired radical chic women who normally attend this kind of place: you will find quite a mixture of guests, men, girls, groups of coworkers... The menu has a quite a wide choice of vegan and raw dishes and there are also different desserts and fresh fruit juices. I am not vegan nor vegetarian, but I really appreciated my lunch: a single course with seitan, delicious sautéed vegetables, roasted potatoes and salad, with apple ginger and lemon juice and a panna cotta. The young woman at the counter is friendly and efficient and the service is quite quick, beside the annoying fact that you have to set and clear the table and that there's not table service. I spent 20 euros for my lunch, not that cheap...

This ristorante is quiet, quaint and simple in decor. The food is amazing. The service is horrible. If your vegan though and find yourself in Florence this is the place to go. We loved our food.

Low cost food often means low quality food. Here, however, the 'self-service', no waiters model lowers the costs and the food was excellent. Nice atmosphere and almost full all the time we were present. Gnocchi were very good, the unico dolce vegan was great as you get a bit of everything. Organic, gluten free beer and rice beer were surprisingly good. I think they should have a sign in English and Italian explaining the concept - it isn't until you pick up a menu that the process (get you own placemats, cutlery, glasses etc and find your own table) is explained. All n all a very pleasant evening.

Very disappointed with our visit to Dolce Vegan. The food was ok, but nothing special. The atmosphere was also a disappointment, felt very sterile and boring. The staff was definitely not friendly. They gave minimum explanation on the food and were not helpful translating the menu into English.
