Try the veal with lemon and spinach! :)
And the cakes..

The athmosphere in the trattoria San Lorenzo was relaxed and happy. The waiter was efficient and polite. The view from the down stairs tables (didn´t visited the uppstairs) was to Piazza San Lorenzo and the church. Reasonable prices.

We have had many good meals in Italy, but Trattoria San Lorenzo is so good we came back two nights in a row and were not disappointed. Gnocchi from the specials menu, spaghetti with seafood, then tonight steak florentine and veal scallopine... to die for. Both nights we had Ali (Halil) as our waiter. I recommend you ask to be in his section. Courteous, efficient and very responsive to every need. Thank you TSL and Ali for a great experience!!

Just had wonderful osso buco at this restaurant. The people were so welcoming and the service was wonderful. Began with a salad that was composed of very fresh ingredients. Then came the osso buco and I loved it so much I asked if it was possible to get the recipe. The owner said he would ask the chef and the next thing you know he and the chef was conferring and writing and I had the recipe. We finished with grandmother's cake and panda cotta...both of which were delicious. The final touch was a small glass of limoncello. I highly recommend this place and judging by the number of Italians that were eating there, it is also popular with the locals. It is located just outside the Church of San Lorenzo...do try it...give your taste buds a treat.

This is a great little restaurant right in the middle of Florence, there are so many good places around that its hard to choose, but this trattoria has that look about it that gives you confidence it's going to be just that bit more authentic.
The staff are very friendly and attentive, their grasp on English isn't great, but most of the dinners seemed to be Italian, which is always a good sign
Inside the restaurant is cosy, wooden furniture, a bar on the left with various monetary notes stuck all over it, random, but it looks quite cool. There is seating upstairs also, but we didn't see it, apparently it looks over san Lorenzo square, which at the time had some building works going on anyway.
They have a decent wine list which is well priced, all the Italian classic on offer like prosecco, chianti, Barolo, amberone etc...
Food is tasty, no nonsense on the plate, rustic in presentation but big on flavour, like all good Italian cuisine.
The ravioli of porcini mushrooms was very good, as was the steak with rocket and Parmesan, the beef tasting really good, I like the way they finish grilled meats with lemon in Florence, yum!
The only slight downside were deserts, which were average when compared with starters and mains.
I definitely recommend this place and would go back if visiting Florence again
