“Not Worth the Money”
Reviewed October 22, 2012

We visited the Palace in October. To get in was confusing. Two tickets to think about; one for the palace and one for the gardens. You can not get a combined ticket for both which is a shame so they are charging you almost 40 euro to see the entire complex. Also if you want an audio guide, be early as they only have about 30 sets. Way too few for a museum of this size and the number of visitors. We got there early to visit the museum and they were already out of audio guides. Although the explanations in the room are okay, there is way tto much to read. A guide would have been advantageous.

Art work is good and interesting, but the confusion of the two tickets, the audio guide issue, and the closure of many rooms made the visit not as good as hoped.

“Worth the visit!”
Reviewed October 20, 2012

Even though we were tired, it was worth the walk to the Pitti Palace. The living quarters were something to see, you could imagine what it was like when it was lived in. The art collection is also amazing. The only hick is that if you want to see everything, you need to purchase 2 types of tickets. The regular ticket does not allow entry to the gardens.

“Other places much better”
Reviewed October 19, 2012

We were in Florence for five days, giving us ample time to explore the city in depth. We were staying near the Pitti Palace so decided to give it a go.
Though the inside of the building is interesting, others are much better.
We all like gardens so strolled up the hill to a very un impressive view of the grounds. You do get a nice view away from the palace, but not worth the walk up.
Skip this and concentrate on something else.

“Loved it !”
Reviewed October 16, 2012

I did this experience partially - as there are several museums inside this one palace. Tickets are sold in combos. I was very interested in the Royal Apartments as we could see how people used to live in the days. The kids also loved it: they were able to picture life in that beautiful palace. I did not buy in advance even though I went in July - busy time. No problem to get in.

“This is an all day event or can be...”
Reviewed October 16, 2012

The Palace is so beautiful so if you are into interiors you will love this, the grounds go on for ever it seems like so bring a tiny picnic and find a wonderful spot, I love the large round fountain area with benches all the way around. There is a fantastic gift shop, I always buy my stocking stuffers in gift shops like these. Playing cards for my friends who play Bridge etc. you can spend all day here, so if the weather is iffy.. Go here and do the outdoor things and then when the rain comes do the Palace and museums here.
