The mosaic ceiling will literally take your breath away. Photos don't do it justice. The height of the dome, the dazzling gold color, and the artistic scenes made me want to gaze at it forever. If you are a fan of Dan Brown and have read Inferno, then you for sure want to see what Dan Brown describes as a possible inspiration for Dante's masterpiece The Divine Comedy depicted in the ceiling. If not, don't miss seeing the baptistery anyway. It is small in diameter and you only need to spend a few minutes to appreciate it all. Get your combo ticket across from it in the building facing the church and the baptistery. Follow the signs.
