“Good Secret”
Reviewed October 17, 2012

We went to Cuco after seeing the reviews on here and were more than happy with the choice. If we weren't looking for it, we'd have walked right by, which is a good thing in a way! There are only 5 tables in the place and it's contemporary decor is what we like. The menu is unusual and given to you in an almost origami folded piece of paper. We had rabbit and soy chicken and they were unusual but very good. Totally agree that if you're looking for traditional food stay away, but if you're looking for a fresh, modern twist on Italian food, then this is the place for you.

“Noveau cuisine off the beaten path”
Reviewed October 2, 2012 via mobile

So, if you're like me you always review the "terribles" first. Be warned, if you want the same old Tuscan fare - stay away. If you want something up beat and fresh, don't miss out by passing Cucu by. We stopped in before boarding our train to Rome for a quick bite (5 minute walk to the central train station). Plenty of possibilities for the Celiac in your group that aren't the boring old usuals - including gluten free beer. Ricardo was there to greet us at the door speaking perfect English. Don't miss the tiramisu to finish of the meal.

“A blissful hidden gem!”
Reviewed September 3, 2012

Without single word of a lie, the meals I have eaten at CUCO restaurant have been some of the best food I have eaten in all of Italy. Maybe all of Europe!? So good in fact, I went back the next night! If I was in Florence any longer, I would be seated there again! Period!

Although a little hidden from the regular 'touristy' restaurants near the centre of Florence, and quite different to your regular Osterias or Trattorias, CUCO is one restaurant worth finding! The restaurant has a crisp, modern interior and although small, catering for a handful of clientele at a time, it is still relaxed, friendly and inviting.

With a contemporary feel to every dish, presented beautifully and clean, the gorgeous flavours from the first bite captivate your palate and urge you to scoff down more! And you will! The Italian chef you can see in the kitchen has a wonderful and inventive take on traditional fare, using fresh, Tuscan produce and flavoursome ingredients in every dish. Wonderful dishes you would expect to pay double for (and I have) in other lesser restaurants! With a daily changing menu, handwritten and cleverly folded like origami on a placemat, choosing these extremely well priced dishes is difficult as they all look mouth watering! You may want to fore go lunch so you can try them all!

This may just be my new favorite restaurant, and I cannot recommend highly enough CUCO for a completely satisfying foodie experience. Worth every one of the 5 stars! I WILL be back!

“Fantastic Italian food”

We had dinner at Cuco, and it was one of the best Italian dinners we had during our holiday. Pure flavours and well prepared meals, combined with good service. Nothing to complain about, really fantastic!

“Fantastic atmosphere ”
Reviewed August 18, 2012 via mobile

Found this restaurant through tripadvisor... It is a small little gem in Florence, with warm and wonderful service. The food is pretty yummy, allowing us to taste and experience new items like wild boar carpaccio and minced goose with zucchini. Great partnership between the father and son. Beautiful organic wine too :)
