“Great Little Spot”
Reviewed October 29, 2013

We only were able to spend one night in Florence, but we were very glad we chose this hotel. Don't be turned off by the way in, the rooms are wonderful and clean, and the service was exceptional. It was also a great price, the location was very good as well.

Great staff at this hotel.Warm welcome and very pleasant and helpful.Rooms nicely decorated. breakfast was buffet style and adequate.Location was near the station and although not in the classiest part of town was well positioned to access all the sights.

Room Tip: Room was on street but had good double glazing.

This is a nice family run hotel. The advantages are that it has air conditioning (a must in Florence in the summer), and it is walking distance to the central train station and all the major sites. Breakfast is buffet style and included and good. There are lots of excellent and reasonably priced restaurants nearby, and a few grocery stores as well if you want a picnic lunch. The central market is only a few minutes away and worth a visit for its variety of exotic Italian foods. Some of the hotel’s furniture is a bit worn out and should be replaced. The hotel is located on Via Nazionale, which is a major street. The hotel installed new windows which keep out the noise, but if you are a very light sleeper you should ask for a room away from Via Nazionale, where things are very quiet. The staff was always very helpful with all our questions. If you are looking for a 3 star hotel in Florence this place is a good choice.

Room Tip: Rooms away from Via Nazionale are very quiet.

We took a quadruple sharing room. Room was huge, air conditioned with one double bed, 2 single beds and attached bath (no lock!) with toiletries and fresh towels. The location was excellent in terms of proximity to city central - 10 minute walk from the station and comfortably walkable to most major monuments and places of interest, and multiple eateries, cafes etc dotting the street. However, the street leading to the hotel is narrow and very crowded. The lift was very small and we had to go in 2 at a time. Breakfast was average with simple fare and not so great coffee. We paid around Rs. 2000/- per person per night so was an average experience considering value for money. Staff were only moderately helpful when we had queries, the lady at the desk being at least a bit more engaging than the man.

Large room with comfortable bed. Very helpful staff at reception. They helped us organize a day tour. Breakfast was included (very good), lots to choose from. Walking distance to most of the sights and train station. Would recommend this place.

My husband and I went to Italy for a one week "babymoon" and florence was our second stop. The staff at this hotel were less than helpful, the breakfast was sub-par with nothing but an assortment of breads and cheap tasting lunch meat. As far as location, while yes very close to everything, in the evening you must pass through a very shady neighborhood to get into the touristy locations and main restaurants. For the price, we were definitely not expecting gourmet food or 5 star service but this felt like more of a hostel trying to pass as a 4 star hotel.

We are three ladies traveling together and stayed 2 nights in Florence. Elevator was TINY and claustrophobic, which was difficult for luggage. Thank goodness with all the great food in Florence we got a workout in by doing the stairs the rest of the time. The staff was borderline rude, and not very helpful when asked certain questions. We did not feel very safe walking back to hotel in the evening hours. The beds were rock hard and linens seemed old and "pilled". They gave us a wheelchair accessible room, which had a big bathroom, but the shower situation was very messy due to no shower curtain. The complimentary breakfast was a big disappointment. It seemed like the staff were bothered by us being there.
