We arrived late at B&B Bel Duomo at Florence and had only a few hours to spend in Florence while checking out to Pisa the next morning.

Mandy and her husband (Owners) were so friendly towards their guests and provided us with travel tips and maps to Florence, and even offered us a welcome drink. We felt so welcome at their cosy B&B setup.

The location was good, as it was in the center of everything, San Lorenzo market and SMN railway station. One thing to note, pack as light as possible as you might be lugging heavy luggage up the stairs like us (as there's no lifts). But Mandy was so helpful to offer us assistance with our luggage.

The room was spacious and had high ceilings. The good thing that it's air-conditioned, noting that a lot of hotels/B&B in Europe doesn't have air-conditioning.

Although it was only a brief stay at Florence, we absolutely loved it as compared to touristy Pisa. We will be back and will stay in this wonderful B&B again.

We've just returned from a 3night stay at the Bel Duomo and this little B&B more than exceeded our expectations.
The location of the hotel first of all is fab; Piazza del Duomo is practically on the doorstep along with an abundance of restaurants, vibrant street cafe's, gelateria's and bars. I would say most of the main attractions can easily be reached within 10mins walk, we even managed to walk to Piazzale Michelangelo (amazing views) within half an hour.
The B&B itself is perfect for a city break in Florence. Our room (3) was spacious, comfortable, immaculately clean and had more than enough conveniences for a short stay including complimentary pastries & chocolates.
The Hostess Mandy, as other reviews have mentioned really does go the extra mile to make sure guests have an enjoyable stay in Florence. The other staff we encountered were also really friendly, helpful and more than affluent in their knowledge of the city.
We had a great time in Florence and our stay at the Bel Duomo added to this. It'll definitely be the first place we look at the next time we visit, thanks for such a pleasurable stay!

This fabulous little place is in a perfect location, only 5 minutes from the train station and Duomo. It's small but clean and wonderfully cozy. Our room was bright and inviting and the hostess, Mandy, is a really lovely lady. She was very helpful with the locations of places and very nice to us. We had a splendid night's rest and we wished we had stayed here longer.

We stayed here for four nights on our honeymoon, and it was easily our favorite place we stayed in Italy. The room was fantastic and the location can't be beat - only steps to Piazza del Duomo. We fell asleep and woke each morning to the ringing of the bells. Best alarm clock ever. Mandy and Giulio were excellent, warmhearted hosts, who took the time to chat with us and answer questions and give recommendations. While not a full European breakfast, they provide croissants and coffee, tea and snacks each day (and we got a nice drinkable honeymoon gift as well). Having travelled enough to know that smiles, conversations and attentiveness are not guaranteed, I cannot stress enough how warm and inviting the Bel Duomo experience was. Truly an oasis.

* - the asterisk pertains to one word of caution: Bel Duomo is up 3 flights of stairs. I didn't mind - I would have climbed 6 flights for this place - but if you're arthritic or have recently had knee replacement surgery, you should probably look for first-floor accommodations someplace else. But, let's face it - if either of those things pertain to you, Europe is probably not a good choice for travels in general.
