“Good option for Florence hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 12, 2008

My wife and I spent two night in this nice hotel.
We prefer that the hotel will be placed out side the city center and will have a close public transportation ability. This is exactly what we got in Liberty hotel. It is 15 minutes bus drive from the city center and it takes 5 minutes walking to get to the bus station (the bus arrives once in 10 minutes or so).
The room was nice, the breakfast was OK as well.
The price was fair (99 Euro per night + 15 Euro per night for car parking).
The most impressive part of this hotel is the service level of the staff. They were welcoming and very helpful. They have pointed us exactly to the highlights that should be seen in Florence in two days time.

Staying in Liberty Hotel was generally a pleasant experience, but I have to highlight some points.
Something I didn't like was that during our staying there for 3 days, nobody came to change sheets and towels. In addition, they had told us that the hotel offers bicycles for free, as the centre is a bit far if you don't like walking, but the bicycles were damaged.
Finally, the staff were generally friendly and helpful and the breakfast was not very big but it had a variety of products.

Hotel Liberty is in a beautiful neighborhood about a mile from the Ponte Vecchio. We arrived by rental car and parking was 15€ extra per night. At first there was a mix up with our room reservation – the desk manager gave us a double instead of a triple; however, he soon remedied this. Unfortunately, the triple did not have the lovely view of the grounds that the double had. In fact, it had no view but did have a nice balcony. The room was large, clean and comfortable with plenty of storage. The bath too was large with a good shower and plenty of towels. One thing I noted throughout Italy was the standard hair dryers provided in all of the hotels in which we stayed; they were, without a doubt, the worst I have ever used. The breakfast at the hotel was very nice – standard continental. The one drawback was the lack of restaurants nearby. We did find a wonderful trattoria not far from the hotel but it was not open every evening. The hotel staff was friendly and courteous. I would definitely consider staying at this hotel if in Florence again.

Staff of the hotel was nice and war. We felt very comfortable and well looked after, so we could relax during 3 days of our stay in the middle of our trip across Northern Italy. We will definitely recommend this Hotel to our friends. Thank you.

We stayed for four nights at the hotel villa liberty when we were in florence the second week of june. We did a booking through their website and got a special offer 4x3. We appreciated that.

The hotel was 15 minutes far from piazza michelangiolo and same distance to santa croce church. Also nice church is san miniato al monte near piazza michelangiolo. We reccomend this to everyone. From there you have the wonderful view of Florence in front of you.

The hotel is a very nice villa with a nice garden from behind. The hotel villa liberty had a private parking, the only thing we had to leave the keys at the front desk.

The room was too spacious, furnished with liberty style.
We also found a well- working air conditioning. That is very important when you go somewhere and it is too hot.

The breakfast type was continental. There was various choices; salumi, cheese, different types of briosches , fresh fruits, american coffee etc.

The staff was very helpful and they were very polite. Rare thing to find the staff paying attention to you when you do the check-in or ask for some information.

We had a nice stay in Florence and I think the nicest hotel we could find there. The quality price is a deal in hotel villa liberty.

We will go back there if we visit Florence again.

Stayed at the Hotel Liberty for four nights and it was great. The Staff were very helpful & friendly, you could walk to the center of Town in 15 minutes, it was very nice. Some of the little things you should do if you stay here are: 1) throw a bar of soap in your suitcase, the one's housekeeping leaves are the size of a quarter, I don't know where they found such small bars of soap. 2) If you use a face cloth, throw one of those in your suitcase, they don't have them in the bathroom. Other than these couple of minor things the room was great, bed was comfortable, everything was spotless, TV was small and only had CNN in English which repeated every 15 minutes (same news). The little "Bar" has limited selection, but a great bottle of wine was only 15 Euro and they kept it in the bar area for me to take a glass to the room every night. The breakfast in the morning was OK, I walked to the Cafe Micheangleo every morning and mikxed it up with the locals (cappacino & sandwich 2 Euro) very good, but you can't be shy you have to belly up to the counter and order. So many great restaurants in the area I can't name them all, the GiGi which is within walking distance was very good and the price was right. If you've never been to Europe, take note that a number of the smaller restaurants off the beaten path don't open until 7:30 or 8:00 PM, so dinner a 6:00 is out, unless you go into the center of Florence and pay more than you would in the little places. Example, dinner for two at GiGi's, three courses, wine and a beer was 40 Euro, one plate of Pesto & two glasses of wine in Florence was 36 Euro, the Pesto was good, but not worth that price! Also, the square with the statue of David and others is located has a coffee shop...that is quite nice on a sunny day, however a cup of coffee was 5 Euro!!! and it wasn't that good. If you're looking for a quiet, clean hotel that is not far from the sites of Florence, this is a good spot. I am a very early riser and the last day of my business trip was for sight seeing so I didn't have to "get up", when I finally looked at the time it was 9:15 AM which for me is late, that's how comfortable and quiet the place was. Note the room didn't have a clock and it was so dark (room 15) I had to turn on a light to see my watch. Overall a great place to stay and this is from a traveller that likes all the comforts. When my business associate booked the room I said "I'll stay at the Hilton thank you" He told me no, you're to far away from everything you'll like this hotel and he was right. Oh, one other minor complaint no internet service in the room, you had to go down to the little dinning area to get a signal which was OK for just checking email, signal was strong, but you couldn't sit there in your underwear and work (LOL)!

  • Liked — Very clean and comfortable
  • Disliked — No internet in the room, no full service restaurant/bar
