The good: location is 15 minutes for walking to Florence's main attractions; staff is pleasant and helpful; common rooms in lobby are beautiful. The not so good....air conditioning did not work well in our room even though it ran constantly, which made it difficult to sleep; bathroom is extremely small even by European standards; no ventilation or air conditioning in bathroom; shower is in a steep tub which can be slippery & tricky to climb into; breakfast is not scheduled to begin until 7:15 so if you want an early start you are out of luck. This is compounded by the fact that it does not really start at 7:15! One person staffs the breakfast room and one morning he was still putting things out at 7:45. Bottom line...would stay somewhere else when visiting Firenze.

Room Tip: Make sure the air conditioning works in your room!

Hotel Principe is centrally located but added to its location is a wonderful view. The front of the hotel faces the Arno River and the back overlooks a beautiful garden. This hotel is family owned and everyone goes out of there way to help make your visit to Florence a memorable one. I would never stay anywhere but here when I visit Florence again.

Hotel principe is close to the centre of Florence 10minutes walk to the centre and the bridge.

A most pleasant and homely hotel, though it is really a B&B. Staff A1+ and most helpful.Quiet, relaxing and well-furnished with cool, clean rooms. Ours had a balcony overlooking The Arno and the residential area of Florence. We were surprised to receive, unexpectedly, a good bottle of local wine with a message to "Enjoy your stay in Florence". It really was a truly relaxing place to stay and well-run, nothing being too much trouble for the staff or the owner. Not cheap but well worth it. Spotlessly clean and well-presented. I would definitely return.Breakfasts were good and the staff were very willing to advise on pre-booking museums/art galleries etc and only too willing to do it for one. They also recommended an excellent, nearby restaurant called "Pandemonium"where the food was truly first class, the proprietrix friendly and the service first-class. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Ask for a balcony room or garden room.

We stayed in Florence for 7 nights, Our room was at the back of the hotel with a balcony and we had complete privacy as if we lived in Florence! We were within walking distance to most of the attractions ", the hop on hop off " bus was a stones though away. The beautiful Arno river across the road as you step out of the hotel. The Staff were outstanding! Bob and I have traveled widely since 1972 and The Principe was the only hotel that treated us almost like family.
We cannot recommend it high enough.
There are a variety of restaurants nearby and for the shops around. The breakfasts were outstanding.

Room Tip: We were on the 4th floor with a balcony with a view of the Duomo. The room was large and quiet .The...

I only stayed here one night when I moved to Florence but the hotel was lovely. It was clean and the staff were very friendly/accommodating. I had a single room in the back with a balcony which overlooked their beautiful garden in the back of the hotel. I almost felt like i was staying in a Florentine's apartment with the decor within the hotel. It felt cozy and relaxing after a long flight over. The location is great, right off of the Arno and within walking distance into the city center and train station. I would definitely stay here again if the need arose.

Room Tip: The rooms at the back of the hotel are overlooking the hotel garden and resident apartment so it is...
