“Loved our Time”
Reviewed September 29, 2013

This is a great boutique hotel. Small, with a wonderful staff. Located outside main city, but a short walk from the bus stop. We had a great time here and the staff was very helpful. The printed some tickets we forgot, gave directions, and even helped out when our pre arranged transport to the train station was late. The gentleman who showed us our room remembered where we were from and remembered what my we liked to drink in the morning. We requested a king bed, and that is what we got. The room was big and the safe was big enough for our 14 inch laptop. The wifi was great for us and we were able to Skype home to our kids, which was important. A pleasant surprise was the fridge. We were able to keep our water bottle in there overnight, so we had cold water and we were also able to keep a bottle of wine. Room was always clean. A couple of tips, this is an older house so I guess the plumbing is old, as the shower turned very hot when someone turned the sink on or flushed the toilet. No big deal, just good to know. I also wish they had screens on the windows. We wanted to enjoy the outdoors but the mosquitos were bad. Didn't see any places with screens so probably not an option, but a girl can wish. Would definitely return if we go back to Florence and will recommend to anyone looking for a boutique style hotel.

Hotel is ok, large rooms, bit dated, could do with an update.

The location was quiet area near Pitti Palace, with some walking to tourist area.

The staff was helpful with requests, breakfast which is included was standard.

Beware of parking can be a challenge, early checkin might avoid losing your parking spot.

In a Nineteenth century villa, the Hotel is in a beautiful spot of Florence, five minutes' walk from Porta Romana and ten from Palazzo Pitti. The staff is friendly and collaborative, the rooms large and well furnished. Breakfast could be a little more plentiful, but it is good. The parking in the back of the hotel is important in an area with parking limitation. All considered, a good choice.

By all accounts this is a traditional villa style hotel but in every way it catered for our needs perfectly. We came to Florence to get some R & R and do plenty of sight seeing. The hotel is about a 20 minute walk from the city centre and all the delights that are on offer.

On arrival we were greeted by Antonio who gave us a map and highlighted the best areas to visit for food/drink, sight seeing, shopping etc which was very helpful. He also told us what busses to get if we wanted to travel further afield so was very informative.

Our room was spacious and clean with a comfortable bed and free wifi and whilst breakfast was basic it was always fresh and we were greeted with a smile every morning.

Yes, the hotel is a little dated but we felt that this just added to the charm and rustic authenticity. The hotel is close enough to the city to be a pleasant walk but far enough out to be quiet and away from the hustle and bustle. All in all if you want a modern hotel then this isn't the place for you but if you want a true piece of traditional florentine charm then this is the place for you.

This hotel is very nice but I agree with previous reviews that it needs a bit of tender loving care. The room we had was very basic and had no bath! The sockets were over used and were not fixed properly so dangerous. Breakfast is very very basic but served in a nice room. It is advertised as a 4* but I'd say 3* Max! The Ponte Veccio bridge is a 20 min walk away but it is a lovely walk and very easy so I see this as a bonus. Staff very helpful. I did enjoy my stay here.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights. Was booked by our travel agent. Has potential to be really nice but is a little run down, looks more old and tired than photos suggest.
Free Wifi was a plus
Breakfast was included, was acceptable.
About 10-15min walk to ponto vecchio

A classic Italian villa hotel about a 20 minute walk from the centre in a very attractive leafy suburb, adjacent to the Pitti Palace gardens, which are well worth a visit for the views over Florence. Very good breakfast, excellent service from all the staff, including a very informative overview of the local sites and attractions when we first arrived (from Antonia in reception). The hotel also has bikes which are free to hire (great for getting into the centre and around the sites), free car park and free Wi-Fi with no password required. The hotel is also easy to get to from Pisa as it's on the right side of the city.

We hired 3 rooms for 3 nights until 13/08/13, all rooms were fine and we recommend this hotel.

Tip: If you want some really good Italian ice cream, avoid the city centre and go to the ice cream/cake shop on the round-about just down from the hotel (on the walk into Florence centre) - the ice cream is better and about a 1/3 of the price.
