Villa Carlotta Hotel

Enjoyed our stay at Villa Carlotta. Large room and very clean. Loved the large shower. Only con could had used a little more A/C. Due to the heat the walk to attractions seemed twice as long as it actually was. Since there were two couples we decided to split the cost of a taxi which made getting around alot more injoyable. We also enjoyed the outside patio after a long day of sightseeing. We could sit under the umbrella tables and enjoy drinks from the bar. Breakfast was very good and we did enjoy dinner there twice. The steak was excellant. The employees were very helpful and friendly.

Everyone at Villa Carlotta was so nice in this grand villa which is located on the Avenue of the Hills in Florence Italy. The area is spectacular, with tree-lined streets. It is a quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle of the heart of Florence. Hotel staff went the extra mile to assure a comfortable stay in their facility. The outdoor dining in the evening on the veranda was a plus. Breakfast included a good variety of pastries, cheeses, eggs and cereal for guests. Our room was quite comfortable with all the amenities. Thanks to everyone at Villa Carlotta for making our stay in Florence so special.

We stayed here in 2011 and 2012 for Moto Gp in Mugello. It is charming old Tuscan style villa in a quiet location which is only 10-15 minute walk to Ponte Vecchio. The rooms are large and nicely decorated with clean Ample sized bathroom. There is safe private parking and the gate is shut at night. Breakfast is a buffet and could be improved as there is not much choice. We have already returned and would definitely return again.

The hotel was nice but it is not really 4 star. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and in an ok condition, certanly not 4 star condition. The breakfast was on the border between average and poor. The hotel location is a bit out of the centre of Florence. We did not mind the 15-20 min walk to the centre. However if you only have little time in Florence maybe another location is more suitable. Overall it is ok to stay here if you get a good deal but it is definitely more of a 3 star hotel.

Dearn Guest,

We are sorry to know you don't like so much the Hotel and you give us a Bad Title on your review; Also Because you wrote ; " is a Nice Hotel, room are big and clean, The staff were friendly and helpful"; The only point you dont like so much is the distance form the centre and probably the style of the Hotel; About the distance it takes 15 minutes crossing the Boboli Garden (one of the most fantastic park in Italy) to arrive to the Old Bridge Ponte Vecchio, so very walking distance and just perfectly little bit far from the caos and noise of the centre in a kind of quite and calm oasy full of Green;

Our Room are Furnished with elegant and classic taste, the rooms are endowed with every comfort: Wi-Fi Internet connection for Free, Flat screen LCD TV, DVD Player with a free choise of movie at the reception desk, mini-bar, courtesy line, in room telephone, and security safe.

About the Breakfast i can just say that includes table service for coffee, cappuccino, hot tea and hot chocolate, also in the buffet, there are four types of yogurt, jam on 4 varieties , honey, butter, nutella, 3 types of cereals, fresh croissant simple or with jam, fresh ham, cheese , 4 types of bread, toast machine, boiled eggs, fruit in abundance, fruit salad, fruit tarts and Home made Pies prepared by our Chef.

Thank you for having dedicated some of your precious time to us and please accept our very best wishes

Helpful front desk, decent breakfast, wifi went out in rooms but was available downstairs, rooms are similar to southern Victorian Georgia style, clean hotel. It is a bit out of the center, so make sure to figure out a way to the train station before hand. A few minute walk to bus stop. If you get a great deal stay here, otherwise I would book closer to the center of the city. There was an amazing restaurant 2 blocks away...just ask the front desk!

From the airport you are looking at about a 30 minute drive and about 5 from the metro. Located at Via Machiavelli, you will find yourself at very quiet and safe part of town (southern side of Florence). The staff is friendly and willing to help where possible and don't be alarmed when the reception desk is incredibly hot, the rooms are air-conditioned. Upon our entrance to our room (separate from the reception desk building) I found the room to be spacious and clean. Very old fashioned and peaceful, I found the room to be comfortable. The fixtures could use some updating and the closets should be aired out, overall the room is perfect. The only flaw, which is why I gave it a 3 star, was that our room was on ground level next to the entrance door and the constant slamming was quite ridiculous at 2 in the morning. Nonetheless, I would consider coming back.

The hotel, by foot, is a 20 minute walk from the heart of Florence and all the large attraction sites, but its a good walk. You will pass by the Pitti and the gardens everyday and the bus stop is minutes away. You can also walk to Piazza Michelangelo and is highly recommended for scenic views.

FYI: Breakfast is served up until 1015, but don't expect to stay full if you don't like pastries and hard boil eggs every morning. Enjoy your vacation!

Room Tip: Stay away from room 301.
