B&B Hotel Firenze City Center
Ranked #274 of 410 Hotels in Florence
Reviewed July 1, 2014 via mobile

We arrived to Florence 29 June by car. The reception personnel speak English OK and we went to our room quickly. We had to pay for our stay during the check in.
Firstly, beware that breakfast is not included in the price of the room even it is B&B. Price of breakfast is 6,90€/person and you eat all you can. But, it was really small, monotonous and coffee had a strange taste...
Secondly, we had room No. 412, that was OK. Only double bed, table with a chair and small TV. A small dissapointment was that CNN did not work.
Thirdly, the bathroom was OK for one or two nights, equipped only with a shower, a toilet and a basin. Bad point was that we smelled cigarettes in the bathroom eventhough all rooms are for non-smokers! That was bothering us.
A very good point was that we parked our car straight in front of the hotel, surprisingly for free.
All and all, the hotel is worth of its name and OK for a short time period.

This is your basic hotel and really not that cheap when compared to say a Best Western hotel. The total for one night for the 2 of us with breakfast was over 100 Euros. Breakfast was very basic as well. The room was fairly clean, the bed quite hard but clean. On the plus side was the free WiFi, which a lot of higher priced hotels charge for.
DO NOT buy the parking garage ticket for the reduced price of 14 euros, it did not work and I ended up paying an additional 20 euros to get out of the garage.

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights with my sister. It was clean, nice and did the job for its price. Nothing crazy but just a nice B&B. It is 10min walk away from the centre which is great. It is not dangerous to go back to the hotel late at night which is good as well.
I do recommend it if you would like a nice place to stay where it is not too expensive.
The staff was friendly and multi-lingual. I wouldn't not necessarily recommend the breakfast as it is very basic and not great (even though it is quite cheap).

Place & price is very good. But the walls are too thin that you have to listen everything who are not in your room. Breakfast is very basic. But wifii is excellent. Thank you for b b hotel. If ı come again ı will stay there

This hotel has several flaws, but it's not too bad. The room had a balcony with an interesting view of the city. Rooms with thin walls - we can hear a lot of things. Breakfast is weak. Cleaning is not bad, but also not faultless. It is located a bit far from the city center - walking can be interesting, but when repeated several times can become tiresome.

My friend and I, two people, walk into the lobby and are told tourist taxes are 6€ a day... Ridiculous compared to the FAR better hotels we stayed in that were cheaper. Whatever.

Then, the two of us walk into the room. Two twin mattresses shoved together and linked by a sheet. Ok. Whatever again.
Sit on the bed; solid as a rock! Head on the pillow; automatic neck sore. I mean, I honestly had back and neck pains waking up every morning. Nope. Not whatever.

Now the bathroom. The light takes about 30 seconds to flicker on and dimly illuminates a small, cramped shower, a sink with no actual soap, but a squeeze bottle that you have to reach into the shower to get (The soap is a "combo" of hand/body wash/shampoo)! Now, this is annoying to have to do after waiting ten seconds for the toilet to flush (horrible water pressure). The shower had no actual door, so all of our water seeped onto the floor and I nearly slipped on it twice!

We, also needed an extra towel and pillow and were /rudely/ told that there were extras already in the room oddly placed in the "closet". We avoided telling them about the mosquito problem in order not to be rudely accused of causing it ourselves (the windows open). Didn't want to ask why our sheets never got changed when dirty, didn't want to ask for a pillow that preferably wasn't stained in odd brown colors.

I could go on about the small changes that are ridiculous and could easily be made, but I don't want this review to be too long. Just DON'T stay here! It's not at all worth the price! The view and location couldn't even redeem the quality.

I can see that I am not the first person to comment on the mosquito issue here. Myself and several of the others in my group were plagued by the pests and unable to sleep. The hotel was unable to do anything to help with the mosquito situation and actually got quite upset when this issue was brought up to the front desk and treated us rudely as if the mosquitos were our fault. We had to keep the windows open because the air conditioners in the rooms did not work. The rooms themselves were quite modern. There were beds, flat screen tvs, an area for hanging clothes, and a desk with chair. There were not enough outlets in the rooms.
It was a bit of a walk into the city center, about 10 minutes to Santa Croce.

There is free wifi.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a higher floor as it helps to get away from the mosquitos.
