Nice hotel! Older but very cool and unique. Huge room overlooking the Main Street. VERY NOISY!!! Street noise all night long. We were so exhausted from our daytime activities that it didn't matter to is but it may to some! Good breakfast in the am! Great location!

The hotel is ideal for the station and centre. It was good value for the location. The staff were friendly. The hotel building was an impressive old palace.

But... We were in a duplex room that was dark, tired and plain. The bed gave us back ache. The tv didn't work and the air con was old and noisy.

The bathroom is for thin people only as it was so small.

In short, there are much better hotels, but as a reasonably priced base for seeing Florence it was fine.

First let me begin by saying Florence is very expensive to begin with, second this hotel has some charm due to its age and history, but with that comes some setbacks. On the positive you are just a five to ten minute walk down the road from the main train station. This is why we chose this hotel as we were touring Tuscany by train. It is within a ten minute walk to Il Duomo, Uffizi, etc. so the location is perfect. The downside is this hotel is old and dated, with rooms that are tiny. Our room was about 10 feet wide and had a loft for the bed. Cozy but not what I was expecting. If the price is right you might want to check it out. If not, keep looking.

Room Tip: Try and stay away from rooms adjacent to the main road. Very loud with pedestrians up ALL night.

We stayed here im May 2014. It was conveniently located within walking distance to the train station. We were thrilled that our room in this old palace had stained glass windows and antiques. The breakfast room had a wonderful frescoed ceiling. Our room for 4 was spacious and spotlless. We only stayed one night butI would have loved to have stayed longer.

Room Tip: This place is a visual treat. Ask for the rooms with stained glass and be sure to have breakfast to...

The staff was very helpful and assisted us in leaving our luggage for the day. Large room and enormous bathroom that is unusual. Close to restaurants, shops and sites of interest. Loved the recommended restaurant. Beautiful building that has a great history. Would recommend.

This Hotel used to be a Palace many years ago & the door outside hides this fact until you step inside & its like the tardis! The rooms are huge & the housekeeping very good. The breakfast is served on the 1st floor & look up at the old frescooed ceiling its amazing. The staff are relaxed & speak a few languages plus are very helpful. It,s main attraction for me is that it,s a 5 min walk to the train station or 7 mins walk to bus station. Also if you come outside the front door, cross the road & turn left the Duomo is in sight & is a leisurely 10 min walk away. You can leave your luggage if your flight is a while after check out plus they let you use the toilet if you pop back anytime.
There is a coutyard you can sit in with coffee, the rooms dont have tea & coffee making facilities but ther,s a machine next door to the breakfast room where you can get a cup for 50 cents.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room on a higher floor as the 1st floor may have a bit of noise first thing with bre...

After hotels in Rome this hotel was a relief. Making reservations far enough in advance gets you a great discount. Loved our room, fantastic large bathroom, and just the right old world charm to wipe away the memory of tiny noisy spots in Rome. Very well located, English speaking staff. You can leave your luggage all day at either end of your stay. It's great to walk out the door and be steps away from everything you want to see and do.
