“What a fantastic place!!”
Reviewed October 22, 2011

Just spent my birthday at Brunelleschi and can't speak too highly of it. The public areas and rooms are spotlessly clean and very elegant and beautiful. Staff are all friendly and efiicient and we will certainly return to this gem of a hotel.

Thanks to all, especially Stefano.

Room Tip: It's fun to be above Via Calzuiouli (sp?) as the buzz from below is great and with the windows c...

Superb location, beautiful rooms, great breakfast, nice and helpful staff. This place had everything and was the nicest place we stayed in Italy. The location is the absolute heart of old Florence and the room we had included a sunken bedroom and a bathtub. A stellar experience in every way.

We stayed at the Hotel Brunelleschi for our Honeymoon and had the most amazing holiday. The hotel was first class; stunning decor, impeccable service, perfect location. Our room was absolutley gorgeous with a massive four poster bed and a beautiful marble bathroom.
The staff were so helpful and friendly, from carrying our luggage to reserving tickets for The Uffizzi and they also helped us with our italian, guiding us with the right words and pronunciation.
We feel that we must make a special mention for the cleaning staff because the hotel could not have been better turned out, with rooms cleaned, towels changed and beds made twice a day, both morning and night.
We had several meals at Restaurant Teatro (opposite Teatro Verdi) including the famous Bistecca Fiorentina. If you're visiting Florence, you should definitely go.
We would recommend this hotel to anyone and would absolutley give anything to go again.
The only word of warning would be to watch out for the cost of extras like bottled water and snacks in the room as they can be very expensive. As a rule, don't use / eat / drink anything til you know how much it costs!

Hubby and I stayed there Oct. 11 and 12. The room and bath were the most lovely out of 5 hotels we stayed in during our stay in Italy. The bed was by far the most comfortable. I loved that they used a down comfie with a duvet cover. None of the other beds we stayed in Italy give comfort to the top covers. We stayed in hotels that were 4 or 5 star ratings.

Paulsen and Beatrice at the front desk were fanatastic aiding us in local arrangements and assisting us in a rental car return. Both were extremely focused on taking care of the guests. Paulsen loves his job and it shows. (He should go to our Tuscany hotel and teach them about customer service)

The hotel is in a perfect location to explore historic Florence. However, it will not be found by your GPS extacly. It is near the Duomo about a block, but tucked down a street (st. Elisabetta). If you looked down the street you would not think a hotel could be down the block. It sits back in a very tiny square. I would recomend if you get a car rental that will pick up or deliver to you. Better yet, do not have a car any where in proper Florence. Also, make sure you have extact directions or a cab to get you to the hotel.

Breakast was very good -One of the etter ones we had. Several great restaurants per Trip Advisor within walking distance.

I loved Florence and loved the HB.

Room Tip: If you are sound sensitive, get a room higher than the 3rd floor if it facing the main street. Hubby...

We stayed at this hotel recently and were, overall, sufficiently impressed and satisfied to recommend it to others, and to even return there ourselves someday! Interestingly, the review submitted by Laetitia1978 perfectly reflects all my own thoughts about the Brunelleschi. I was about to write a more or less identical review, focusing on the exact same points for praise and criticism! Perhaps I’m just being mischievous but there’s one thing I can’t resist adding: the general manger, who I notice has responded to some tripadvisor reviews so defensively, regularly strides through the reception area with an air of great seriousness and importance (recognised him from his pic on the hotel website). He should try some eye contact and a smile now and then. His staff might take his lead and behave a little more warmly to guests!

The only thing we would say is about the restaurant, there are too few options of food to choose!
