“We left....”
Reviewed March 2, 2013

We were supposed to stay here for 4 nights but left after one. My husband and I both found this place to be awful. There was a bed, a night stand, and a chair. The hallways were dirty, the elevator was beyond dirty. The bed was hard as a rock, and the smells coming from the bathroom were unbearable. Also, the room below us had a balcony, so it was great when the people below us would smoke and it would come right into our window!

We stayed five days in this little but cozy and with a familiar atmosphere in downtown Florence. You can walk through the streets to any special places, like museum, cathedral, river walk, and all the great sites in Florence.

Room Tip: I clicked terrible swimming pool, but there was not such amenities. On the 6 floor the rooms have a...

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Machiavelli palace hotel this weekend gone. Friendly staff, adequate rooms, good shower. The location was perfect, not a taxi was needed and the main train station was a 5 min walk max. Would stay again and recommend.

Having spent a lot of time in a variety of hotels both in UK & oversees, I can say that this hotel ranks somewhere between average & very good i.e. "Good" (which the rating bar above doesn't include). The location is ideal for site seeing and all the facilities around this historic city and is good value, when compared with similar around Europe. The staff all spoke excellent English & were helpful & freindly. The average rating is on the mean side really and is only so due to the following: no tea/coffee making facilities in room, a small wardrobe for couples staying longer than a week and the un-carpeted flooring throughout, although in keeping with style, generates a lot of noise if your neighbours above insist on wearing shoes in their rooms at 4 in the morning. However, these criticisms aside, we would definitely consider a return in the future.

Room Tip: Choose top floor room

Overall I wouldn't say it was bad, but next time I would try something else. This is a typical transit hotel. Close to the train station, people would come and go all night, breakfast was basic and simple, the simplest we had in our 2 weeks trip in Italy, staying in 4 hotels. And there's no parking!! They charge about 45Euro/night, because they actually take the care and park it somewhere else. It is close to the train station, probably 5-10 min walking distance. It is close to the tourist area, but the the streets around are full and look like a flea market.

This is a terrific hotel, close to everything and very comfortable. The friendly staff is very helpful and the accommodations are excellent. I would definitely choose this hotel for my next trip to Florence. I did not use the swimming pool and had only breakfast in the restaurant. Breakfast was pretty standard, but no eggs.

Room Tip: Try to get a room on the second floor or higher. The first floor is a little noisy, especially in t...

It is well located (easy to arrive from the railway station and close to the main areas of Firenze). The breakfast was ok and the hotel provides free wifi access. On the other hand, it seems that some rooms might be renewed inside ... but this is not a problem if you priorize location (how many hours do you spend in the room?), cleaning and kind attention. We had a really good room in the fifth floor with views all over Firenze.
