The hotel is probably as cental as it gets for the the historic sights, right in the middle of the Duomo, Ponte Vecchio and Uffizi Palace all just 5 - 10 minutes walk. The hotel is traditional florentine style, clean and well equipped. The staff were very helpful, friendly and their good English made up for my non existent Italian. We particularly enjoyed the continental breakfasts which had a wide variety of good quality ingredients. We chose this hotel because we were told that it prides its self as having the best facilities in Florence for disabled guests . This was important as one of us is a wheelchair user. The main access is okay but you would need to be strong or with assistance to get up the slight incline to enter the lobby, although the staff were always willing to help. There are three "accessible rooms" a double and two singles. Access to floors is via a lift which is big enough for most wheelchairs and the rooms are spacious and have a wheel in shower. But there are no drop down hand rails and no shower chair, also no easy access cupboards or wardrobes as would find in the UK. So not the best adapted rooms but okay for someone with reasonable mobility or with assistance. All in all a lovely hotel which we would be happy to use again.
