This hotel is a in really good location- Duomo and other places of interest are just a couple of minutes walk away, so are the main shopping streets. The hotel is very very spacious and clean, with modern computer controlled air conditioning, access and light systems. Buffet breakfast offers a wide enought choice and includes very delicious home made cakes. Wifi is of a very good speed and reliable. I cannot comment on service, as I had a minimal interaction with staff- did not need more. I had a very pleasant stay here and if I would come back again, I would choose this hotel again.

Room Tip: I had the room Nr2. It is spacious enought and faces the yard (not a view to die for) so it was real...

Stayed at the hotel for week whilst we visited Florence. The location is excellent, only a short walk from the railway station and major tourist sights. The hotel and rooms are clean. There was an adequate selection of food available for the continental breakfast. Whilst staying here we also took the train for day visits to Pisa and Sienna. Would stay here again and recommend it to family and friends.

We just completed our second stay at the Hotel Centrale. We were here 5 years ago and loved the high quality, the cleanliness, the updated rooms and bathrooms and the friendly supportive staff. We were delighted to see that the hotel has continued to serve their guests with quality support and one of the nicest hotels in the area near the Duomo. Please check the price of the room for the most current information, you'll be pleasantly surprised at the value of this price!

Our room was a double room with a large bathroom. The tiled shower was one of the largest I've seen in Europe. Although the rooms are modern, you still have that wonderful feeling that you're in Europe and not in an American hotel. The breakfast buffet is a combination of warm items (eggs, toasts, etc) and cold items. I had fresh fruit each morning! They also offered a plate of chocolates!

There is a small elevator to assist you with your luggage, but it only goes to the second story. If you are on a higher floor, then you'll be required to haul your suit case up the stairs.

We were in florence only for one night and it served our purpose well. Good location - short walk to railway station and the main attractions. Clean and decent size rooms. Breakfast was ok. Hotel staff was not very knowledgeable about things but were helpful.

Room Tip: There is no elevator to the rooms, so be careful if you have heavy luggage

Just finished our stay in Florence. The hotel was clean, provided a fairly decent breakfast (even had zuccini one morning and we've struggled finding vegetables during our stay), and quiet even though it is very central to all of the activities. The front desk scheduled our museum tours and we did enjoy the free walking tour provided by the hotel with tour guide Suzanne. She was a wealth of information and we wished the tour took place closer to the beginning of our stay. The air conditioning was turned on and well used during our stay. It is very easy to get to the hotel from the train station and finding it was not a problem, as there was a sign on the main corridor pointing us in the right direction.

Only negatives- the shower did not drain well and there was some mold on two of the shower walls. We would have loved espresso provided fresh rather than done by an automatic machine, however, one of the service ladies did bring around fresh steamed milk to add to the machine espresso and capaccinos.

We stayed here for 5 nights and enjoyed our stay. The room was clean. We did have issues with a slow draining sink that we complained about twice and it never got fixed. And it's likely just an Italy thing, but the A/C was on the lowest setting and it never felt like the room would cool down. The room was a decent size and the shower had good water pressure. Location is great ... especially is you are arriving and departing by train. It's maybe a 10 min walk max depending on how much luggage you are carrying. It's also close to the Duomo (and really everything since Florence is small in comparison to Rome for example). The breakfast buffet was decent. Basically, what you would expect. Meats, cheeses, boiled eggs, cereals, fruits, yogurt, bread. Pastries that looked good but weren't really. I'm a tea drinker so I can't comment on the coffee, but it was from a push button machine. Breakfast is free so you can't really complain, but you could probably get better out. (My opinion could be swayed by having it 5 days in a row and being over it!) We had a decent amount of clothes laundered and they came back fine (though we did get someone elses jeans that we returned which is a little scary!) The hotel offered a few free walking tours each week but it never worked for our schedule to join one. Also, the hotel did book reservations for me for the Accademia and Uffizi when I emailed them weeks before we arrived. While the hotel wasn't perfect, we didn't have any major issues that would keep me from recommending them or consider staying with them again.

Room Tip: -Rooms and bathrooms are smaller than photos appear on their website -Higher floors require taking...
