“Charming”
Reviewed June 17, 2014

This small hotel is not in the center, rather out of the way, towards the Boboli gardens, on the side of an ascending road towards the small village Arcetri, but I liked the area and there are nice walks to have around there. The room I got was right under the roof and had some nice old furniture. The bed was large enough, the bathroom was down some steps, just a shower and a sink but quite cute. The breakfast was a part that I didn’t like: in the basement, frugal presentation with very few items, had to line before a machine to get a coffee – in Italy ! In a supposedly classy hotel… The reception was too small t hold all our luggage. However, there was charm here and I would go back.

A lovely backyard full of trees, fragrant flowers and friendly service make it more of a home-away-from-home and less of a hotel. Room was spacious and full of character. Lovely coffee at reception (payment reqd). Location very close to Porta Romano, but of a avenue full of large trees is excellent, but being on a busy street means that some noise is unavoidable. Minor inconveniences include lack of tea/coffee in room and lack of English TV channels. Provision on moisturiser in bathrooms would also be welcome. Would I stay here again? definitely!
P.S. Not aware of cost of stay, value judgement subject to change.

We spent two nights in this nice hotel, which is located just three minutes walk from Porta Romana. The room was no more than OK, but it was very clean. The continental breakfast was decent. Above al, the service by Benedetta was superb. She was very kind and welcoming and helpful. For such hospitality, we will certainly be glad to come back again.

If you want to be in the middle of everything, this hotel is not for you. However, if you want quiet and peaceful place to retire to at the end of the day, this is a lovely choice. In order to get to the center of town, you must walk down to the Porta Romana and take a bus. It's only about five or six stops to the train station, where you can walk to everything. The staff is very kind and accommodating, and you can sit in the peaceful garden with a glass of wine at the end of the day, which is not a bad way to disconnect. Also, it may seem like a small thing but I had the best pillow I've ever had in a hotel.

The hotel is small and very quiet as the title says. We have been assigned two adjacent rooms on the top floor 206-207 and they were terribly dusty. The receptionist quickly changed our room to ground floor and from there on everything was good.

The hotel is within walking distance to the center very close to la porta romana and the Boboli gardens. The garden is very nice to have breakfast if the weather is fine. The breakfast is basic but sufficient. The staff attentive and helping.

The hotel is definitely good value for money and we do recommend for families.

Room Tip: Stay away from the rooms on second floor.

We and our daughters stayed in the family room on July 6 and 7. Nice Hotel in Florence with free parking. Close enough to the historical sites, and far away from all the tourists commotion. Located in a nice residential area close to the area overlooking the Arno River, Boboli Gardens and Palazzo Piti. Sam, the front desk clerk was extremely helpful, and nice and went out of his way to make us feel at home. The hotel is lucky to have him.
Worth staying there.

We stayed a night with a tour group where parking was essential. It was great from this point of view but room wise it was very small, old, toilet in shower scenario, shower curtain that attacks. It was the worst breakfast we had on our trip, ended up just having the coffee machine, nothing else really to eat, my husband had an apple. Was given wifi network and password but that only worked near the foyer and not in our room. Had 2 more nights in Florence but we decided to go somewhere else, not that it did anything particularly wrong, just wanted more from a hotel in the gorgeous city of Florence.
