We returned and everything was as wonderful as before. The staff is friendly and the setting cannot be matched. The views (and fresco) alone are worth the trip. For people who do not want a corporate, soulless hotel and want a unique place in Florence.

This was our second visit to the unique Torre Di Bellosguardo visiting this time with family aged 10 - 80. We enjoyed our stay enormously. The hotel must have one of the most beautiful views overlooking Florence. The enormous villa is historic and has been sensitively restored so guests can enjoy living in a wonderful setting. The gardens are expertly maintained with interesting botanical species and gorgeous colour and texture. The hotel is 20 - 30 mins walk to the central Arno river through a lovely olive grove (with donkeys in the field). We were very well looked after again - with help when needed but otherwise left in peace to enjoy these beautiful, tranquil surroundings.

Room Tip: Most of the rooms have amazing view but you could mention that this is important when you book. The rooms have wonderful antique furniture and sometimes four poster beds.

We decided to experience life, just outside Firenze's frantic tourist bustle. Troop out 25 minutes from the airport into the hills which afford uninterrupted views of the city centre, cathedral and roofs of the town.. Its one way to do that while still enjoying the beauty of the city.

An elevation to the south Arno provides the best outlook. As the name implies.... Bellosguardo... a place where the loveliest postcard motifs have been photographed..... where painters have captured the panorama in oils. For a trip back in time,in fact to Galileo Galilei's time, this is the essential space to enjoy an atmosphere of history, nobility and bohemian life.

Frescoes,busts... every room is a museum in itself...its sumptuous, and deeply esoteric in furnishings and collected accoutrements. Very refined with a distinction in quality and colour fusion.
But don't get so carried away by the antique interior that you forget to look through the windows of the tower to admire Florence lying at your feet. We had a double room,as a bounty for a heavy travel schedule. By the way, the pool is set in a park of its own with a panoramic view,of course. Breakfast was extra, but who is going to pass up the opportunity to not linger on the sun dappled terrace. This is the amex of stays in and around Florence

We arrived late one night with no reservations, and didn't actually stay here, but I felt compelled to write a review. I was so moved by the villa itself, and David at the desk was so helpful in finding us another hotel. He invited us to come back during the day to see the grounds, which we did, and even though it was a rainy day, it felt like heaven. Wonderful to have this peaceful lovely place so close to the historic center of Florence.

A stay at Hotel Torre di Bellosguardo is like a stay in the countryside of Tuscany yet in the middle of Florence. We began each day with a short walk down through gardens, fields and a farm to arrive just above the Roman Gate and a short walk to the heart of Florence. Not to worry, you can take a short taxi ride if you prefer not to walk. The building and rooms are like your own private villa and many of the rooms enjoy spectacular views over the entire city of Florence. The proprietor Amerigo Franchetti and his staff treat you like family. If you want some typical luxury hotel, stay somehere else. If you want a magical experience with the memories of a lifetime, stay no place other than Hotel Torre Bollosguardo.
