Room was nice but very dark with no natural light, due to the shutters. Room had a bit of a musty smell.

Location was convent.

Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Hotel was originally a convent and still had a bit of that feel.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your recent stay with us and for your valuable feedback. Your kind comments regarding the hotel’s location and service is highly appreciated .
The history, the antiques and the arti in the hotel allows our guests to continue the cultural and artistic experience of visiting the sites of Florence.
We took note of your review and feel very sorry that you could not open the window, I'm sure our receptionist would have been more than glad to open it for you and show you how to open it.
We are now checking them all, renewing also the ornament of the curtains so to bring more nature light in the room.

Best Regards
Rachele

This hotel is about 5 blocks away from the duomo and no more than a 15 minute walk from the main attractions in Florence. The rooms are unique, service amazing, good breakfast. The hotel itself is set in an old building which gives it a historical feel. At the same time the rooms have everything you need and more. They keep the taste of Italy while providing excellent comfort.

Hotel Morandi is on a very quiet street within walking distance to Florence's main attractions, as well as to the Congress Center where we were attending a meeting. It is very close to the Accademia and 15 minute walk to the Uffizi. This was perfect since our son and his grandmother toured Florence on foot, and we met in the evenings for dinner. We stayed in two lovely rooms, one with a lovely terrace; the continental breakfasts were made memorable by the perfect coffees and hot cocoa served by attentive staff. The AC kept us cool during a warm and humid week; the beds were comfortable and I appreciated the extra pillows. We asked for a tea kettle, and owner Paolo Antuono provided us with kettle as well as porcelain cups and spoons, which we appreciated -- and his recommendations for good restaurants for lunch and dinner helped us to enjoy excellent Florentine food without stressing out over where to go amid many tourist traps. He also made reservations for us and found good places that were open early enough for our schedule. We had to spend some time working in the room and appreciated having a desk; the wifi worked well enough, and the rooms were a quiet sanctuary, day and night. It's true the keys are a little tricky, but that was a minor issue.

This lovely hotel and the helpful staff truly enhanced our appreciation of Florence, and when we return we will most definitely stay here.
Highly recommend.

Hotel Morandi has much charm and is in a quiet area of Florence. It is close to many of the sights and attractions Florence has to offer within walking distance. There is no traffic noice when you are looking for a good night sleep. Typically 15-20 minute walk to all major sights. Breakfast was plentiful and really nutrious. I commend the staff for being friendly, warm and informative. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Florence.

This hotel is a former convent and it exudes character! I would absolutely stay here again and have no hesitation recommending this fine establishment. The hotel is tucked away on a quiet side street (no traffic noise!!), yet it is very close to all the major attractions. The air conditioning worked well, the beds were very comfy and the front desk staff members were very pleasant and helpful. There is a very nice sitting area and a laptop downstairs -- they give you the password upon check-in. My only suggestion is to include a printer to allow guests to print out boarding passes. This is not a complaint because the front desk kindly allowed us to use their computer to print boarding passes. The door to the front desk is upstairs and seems difficult to open until you know "the trick." Have someone show you and practice a couple of times as you don't want to get locked out if you come in late! Also, the doors to the street are locked in the evening. I left very early in the morning and encountered the locked door and no lights. After a mild panic, I was able to get the door open. Have the front desk show you where the light switches are and how to open the door if you are leaving early in the morning!!

Dear Guest,

Thank you very much for your review following your recent stay with us and for recommending us!
We took note of the "tricky door" and already put signs on it showing where to press for opening it. For security reasons we can not include a printer at the laptop but only print for our guest all they need from the reception. We also appreciate your kind comments about our staff which is a crucial part of a successful stay.

I do look forward to being your host in Florence again in the future.

We just returned from a two week trip to Italy with stops in Venice, Verona, Florence and Lucca. We were a little nervous about this hotel (convent!) given we have 3 teenage boys (12, 14 and 16). I can tell you everything about the hotel is superb. It is located 4 blocks from the Duomo in a quiet part of town (no crowds), close to very good restaurants (and gelato), a piazza showing outdoor cinema and absolutely sensational (albeit small and unusual) rooms with beautiful terraces. The staff were extraordinarily helpful in every way and breakfast every morning was something to be cherished - make sure you have the fresh croissants and cheese! This was well worth a visit and very affordable given its location. Be prepared if you drive to park in a tiny tiny parking garage which will test your driving skills to the limit.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your review. Your wonderful comments regarding the hotel’s location, guest rooms and service is highly appreciated. We like to give our guests a good morning fragrance with fresh cooked croissant and bread. The parking place is in a narrow street unfortunately there is nothing we can do about it, but I'm happy to take the chance for announcing that since we took note of your consideration about it now we work with a garage service as well in order to be able to provide the best service for any car or SUV!
It has been our pleasure to having hosted you in Florence and do look forward to your next visit in the future.

Hotel Morandi Alla Crocetta was a great place to stay for my wife and I while we were in Venice. It's conveniently located near most of the major sites (within 5 minutes walking distance), while being on a side street that is a little quieter than much of the area. The breakfasts were good, and the hotel staff was excellent: they were very attentive, helpful, and their advice on how to book reservations for the big museums in Florence saved us hours of time.
The decor is much what you might expect from an old converted convent, which gives the place a unique, if not exactly modern feel. The rooms are also much larger than many of the rooms we stayed at in Italy, which was a nice plus. Overall, I highly recommend the hotel and would definitely stay there again.
