We loved the first floor cells beautifully decorated with arch shaped frescoes by Fra Angelico. Nothing to dislike.

This monastery housed some leading figures in Florentine history including Fra Angelico who left beautiful frescoes in almost every room and cell. The story of the monk Savonarolla was fascinating and provided a glimpse into the late 15th century. This museum is slightly off the beaten path, a little bit quieter then most and has a very peaceful, serene atmosphere. Walking up the staircase to see the stunning Annunciation at the top is truly an awe-inspiring moment. Highly recommended

We went to see the Fra Angelicos, and his frescoes in the monks' cells are so vivid, soulful & immediate, they melted the 600 year gap between us and their making. I was so moved by this impeccably kept place and the richness of its holdings, and I appreciated how quiet it was inside during our visit (maybe 5-10 other visitors visible at any given time). This is not to be missed.

Fra Angelico central. To see his beautiful frescos in situ in the upstairs monks quarters (a surprisingly bright and cheerful place) is an experience I will cherish forever. Ditch the Uffizi and l'Accademie crowds for a while and don't miss this serene and uplifting experience, even if only visiting Florence for a short time.

I just love Fra Angelico. Could not believe that I find so many of his paintings under one roof. It is definitely worth visiting, just 10 minutes walk from Piazza del Duomo.
