“Beautiful frescoes”
Reviewed July 28, 2013

This small museum is a former monastery, and the monks' rooms contain beautiful frescoes. Definitely worth a visit!

“Simple delight”
Reviewed July 22, 2013 via mobile

Not one of the major tourist spots and a slight walk from the centre in the mid afternoon heat but I love this place. San Marco and the art of Fra Angelico is humbling in it's simplicity.

“Frescoes, Mons' Cells, and Savonarola”
Reviewed July 22, 2013

This is a lovely, peaceful place full of history. Savonarola's cell is 3 small rooms and there are many pictures and even his monk's robe. His rosary and hair belt are among the treasures there--very interesting for a history lover! The frescoes in every cell are wonderful.

“Interesting if you have some extra time”
Reviewed July 22, 2013

This is a small but interesting little museum, worth a visit if you have some extra time, but it isn't one of the top 10 must see attractions in Florence, in my opinion. The monks' cells are interesting, and there is some beautiful art work, but honestly, the Uffizi or Palazzo Pitti are better choices if you are looking for art.

“Wonderful, read a little about it to get the most out of the visit.”
Reviewed July 19, 2013

If you go with a guide it is much better, or do your homework to get the whole understanding of the complex. It is so well preserved it is a treasure. Savonarola's quarters is worth the visit as well as the art.
