“serene”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 29, 2013

A little bit off the main tourist area of Florence, this church is still incredibly serene. You can walk through some of the street merchants to get there, which I found a lot of fun, or you can walk along the water past the immense library.

“Peaceful and wondrous”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 27, 2013

Wandering the grounds, cloisters and monastic cells of this former monastery, it feels less like a museum experience than a quiet time out in Florence. But that's not meant to underplay the incredible work you will see there -- the Fra Angelico frescoes are simple yet moving. Over doorways, or providing the lone decoration in the monk cell's upstairs, the frescoes tell stories that transcend time. Don't miss the library, where besides some ancient illuminated codex on display, there is an explanation on how this literary art was created. Can be visited in an hour or two.

“Wonder!”

This is a beautiful place to visit, open only in the mornings but a real delight - beautiful frescoes by Fra Angelico in the most charming settings - probably the site I liked most in Florence

The gorgeous art inside the museo plus the fascinating lives of the Medici's make this an excellent choice for a visit.

“A gem of Fra Angelico works”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 12, 2013

This museum has an extraordinary collection of Fra Angelico works in the exceptionally appropriate setting of the Monastic cloister. The frescoes in monks cells on the upper story are particularly moving.
