“The Doors”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 24, 2012

The restored original Batistery doors are now on display. The doors on the Baptistry are just copies so this is where you go to see the real thing.

“Peaceful tour!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 20, 2012

There are many things to see in this Church and convent turned into a Museum, but the best part is to sit on a bench and enjoy the courtyard. You will find a huge collection of paintings with religious themes, just take your time to enjoy the details. This museum is a few minutes walk to the Accademia di Belle Arti Firenze where the statue of David is standing tall and proud on his own tribuna and under his own glass dome. Convenient for you to kill two birds with one stone.

“Loved San Marco”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 17, 2012

We loved San Marco, from the small cloister, small green patch with one tree , and the frecos on the walls, in every room so many paintings of Beato Angelico, and many other famous names, so peaceful. We were advised to go there, and enjoyed every minute.

We also must say, the toilets were the cleanest in any museum in Florence.

“Must see”

A must-see site. The Fra Angelica frescoes in the cells are wonderful. The catalogue is worth the cost.

“Excellent examble of a Monastery”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 16, 2012

I liked it the most of all during my stay in Florence!! An excellent monastery, full of art, but very "lively" too. I liked the peristyle, the yard, the flowers, all!! its also about history- you "see" Savonarola living there, Fra Angelico, even Cossimo the Elder!!
