We were lucky enough to attend a service here and although we aren't religious it was a peaceful interlude in a busy day. Both the interior and exterior are lovely, this is a lovely church

opposite the river, climb up the stairs to the San Miniato. It is dedicated to saint Minias who was an Armenian prince killed by Emperor Domitian for being a Christian.

This is based on a 3rd century church and is wonderful.

The views from the terrace of the city of Florence are a plus

But he managed to walk up to this beautiful place for the view. It's a wonderful church, though it's certainly not filled with the sights and art that other Florentine churches are. But you can't beat the view.

I went there at sunset, when the church was about to close (7pm) and it turned out to be a great decision. The views over Florence are amazing, unique, and in my opinion, far better than the ones you can get from the Duomo or the campanile. The church is also quite interesting, with paintings and two floors, do take your time to visit it, it's definitely worth it if you're around!
