Good choice in Firenze

Review of Hotel Hermitage
5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Oct 14, 2017via mobile
Great location just off North end of the Ponte Vecchio. Minutes from Uffizi Gallery and other attractions. Excellent rooftop garden setting for a European breakfast. Only negative is climbing a flight of stairs to reach the elevator. The elevator is very small. (Will hold two people or one person and a large suitcase). I would definitely stay at the Hermitage again when returning to Florence.

We were only there for one night but it is in a good location overlooking the river, with an easy walk to everything. Small room but a very good value. Friendly helpful staff and nice rooftop patio. Easy cab ride to the train station.

This little hotel is in an incredible location just steps from the Ponte Vecchio, and minutes away from practically all of Florence. Monica and Yolanda were extremely helpful prior to our arrival making various dinner reservations for us, as well as finding some stores close by that were needed for completing business documents. During our 4 day stay other staff members were also very helpful. The hotel is very simple, and some of the rooms should be considered for an update by management. We did enjoy the breakfast room with the view of the Florence rooftops, and the morning staff was very attentive to our needs. A small terrace with a wonderful view of the Arno, Ponte Vecchio, and Palazzo Vecchio, is located one floor above the reception area (which is on the 5th floor), and this space was lovely for relaxing and having an aperitivo after a long day of walking in this incredible city. We would recommend rooms higher than the second floor as they will be less noisy if they face the Ponte Vecchio. Note that if people have mobility problems there are 10 steps at the entrance of the hotel to reach the area where the small elevator is. One other comment is related to services offered at the hotel, and on their website is listed "Sky channels". and from what we saw, there are no Sky channels available. Frankly not a problem for us, but these should not be advertised.

Room tip: Rooms on the lower flowers can be noisier. Nice to have a noon check-out!

Lovely Quaint hotel with an amazing staff! Spacious room with great view of courtyard. Widow shutters opened to let in a beautiful breeze! Breakfast buffet served on rooftop terrace. Staff will make anything extra you request. Such a great location! Easy walk to all major attractions! Would definitely stay here again!

This is a lovely hotel and Monica was great, very welcoming. I had asked for a pre-packed breakfast as I had a very early morning tour the next day. She told me that they were unable to have it ready that early, but it would be brought up later that day, which it was. The location is just perfect, a few steps to the Ponte Vecchio and Uffizi Gallery. Some reviewers had mentioned noise from the street outside. However, the room I had was very quiet. The breakfast was good, but would have liked some more options. This is a "no frills" hotel without a formal lobby, but in no way did this disappoint. All in all I enjoyed my stay there very much and would book it again if and when I return to Florence.

A pleasant hotel with a great location, however one thing I hadn't read before booking is that there is a restaurant/bar on the corner playing loud music until late at night and lots of people smoking and shouting outside. We were only there two nights but would have really spoilt a longer break.
Otherwise the hotel was very clean and fine for a short break.
