Simply Outstanding!

Review of Hotel Hermitage
5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Jun 21, 2017via mobile
My husband and I stayed here 4 nights and didn't want to leave. Yolanda and Monica were absolutely wonderful, along with all staff members. Excellent, spacious immaculate room, modern bathroom, outstanding elegant breakfast room and buffet, beautiful terrace and well appointed, inviting lounge to meet friends. Excellent location, steps from Uffizi Gallery and Ponte Vecchio. Truly the most enjoyable stay we had on our entire trip through Italy. The Hermitage Hotel is one of the reasons we want to return to Florence in the Fall. Thank you Hermitage! We'll be back!

Lovely hotel, perfectly situated for all attractions. Typical italian style rooms, breakfast was good and service was excellent. Roof top bar was a nice feature. Can recommend and will stay here again.

Don C's review was spot on! We found ALL the reception staff extremely helpful. We stayed for 5 nights in May and could not have made a better choice (2 couples). The terrace was amazing, the sitting room/bar area by the reception was relaxing, and the breakfast room was a cheery delight each morning. Yes, the elevator was extremely small, but common for Europe. Yes, there were a lot of stairs (again, common and to be expected). If we could have changed one thing it would have been the mattress (much too firm), but we managed.

I've been trying to come up with things to dislike about this hotel but I simply haven't found any. The location and staff were stellar and the room and furnishings were beautiful. Monica at reception was who we dealt with the most and she was amazing. From suggestions on where to eat to setting up our taxi for the day we left she did it all while being friendly and easy to talk to. Breakfast was standard but always fresh, the rooftop garden terrace was peaceful and by far the most beautiful rooftop within sight with direct views of the river. The air conditioning worked great and was very helpful after long hot mornings of sightseeing. the beds were firm but comfortable and hard to stay awake in. The only negative type things I can think of are that you do need to go up a flight of stairs to enter the hotel so it is not wheelchair friendly and the lift is on the smaller side which is standard for older hotels in Europe. All in all its one of the nicest hotels with one of the best staff that I have ever stayed in.

We stayed here for 4 nights as the first leg of our honeymoon and overall we were very pleased with the hotel. The location is great, everything you want to see/visit in Florence is walking distance and the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms and bathrooms are a bit on the small side, but thats to be expected as its in the historic/tourist district. We had low water pressure in our shower, only real complaint we have.

Room tip: Small rooms, great location!

This is a 3-star rated hotel, but offers 4-star services and a 5-star location! We loved the beautiful roof top garden with view of the Duomo on one side and the Vecchio Bridge on the other. The bridge is steps away from the hotel and the Uffizi Gallery is a block away. The free breakfast and the lovely breakfast room always got our days started on a high note. The friendly and helpful staff were just as fantastic. They even steamed my wife's shirts for free. The only thing that could be a concern was the small shower space in our room. It didn't bother us much but could be a problem for a large person.
