Close to everything and easy to navigate to most areas of interest from this location. Entrance is just a little tricky, but once inside head up on the elevator, or two flights of stairs and you are greeted by wonderful staff who will guide and direct you as needed. Room we were in had an a/c, which was useful. Bathroom just afew steps away and good shower pressure. Wonderful value for the price. Adequate breakfast buffet and nice lounge. Quiet place, comfortable beds.

This hotel was recommended by travel books and a pleasant surprise. I took the fast train from Venice and was shocked to arrive in the midst of a bustling metropolis. I chose to walk to the hotel and the first time I saw the Duomo I couldn’t believe it’s massive size. The hotel is a block and a half from the Duomo (which is a landmark from which you can get your bearings) and within walking distance to the Uffizi, Ponte Vecchio, the Mercado, leather vendors, Medici Chapel, and churches too numerous to mention. The staff were very helpful and the lift is a welcome sight after a day of walking! Daily breakfast was ample and, although I don’t drink coffee, an espresso maker provided that extra kick start for guests. Note: if you travel light and plan to wash some clothes this is not allowed in rooms. A laundry service is available or you can be directed to a laundromat nearby.

Centrally located, walkable to attractions and train station.

Room was small, double bed took up most of the space. Furnishing was sparse and view was of inner courtyard.

Breakfast was good. Staff friendly

A short distance from the train station and airport shuttle bus stops and within walking distance of everything you may want to experience in Florence this lovely 1st floor mediaeval hotel is perfect. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was clean and spacious and great for a city break. Would definitely use it again.

This was my third stay at this hotel. Paulo Lombardi is no longer there. He was always such a great help, so it was disappointing to hear that. It also appears that the hotel has changed hands; although I can't say that for certain.

Now the good news. It's still a great place to stay in a central location. You are down the street from the Firenze Duomo and many restaurants. It's easy to get to museums and the train station is a 10 minute walk from the hotel.

My room was clean and serviced daily. The WIFI was awesome. Breakfast was standard Italian style with sweet confections, but they also had boiled eggs and cold cereal. There is air conditioning and heat in the rooms; although I had use for neither while there. The people at the front desk all spoke English and we're very helpful. They booked a wine tour for me, which was very enjoyable.

All in all there is excellent value still to be had at this hotel.
