Our family of four, my husband, myself and 2 teenagers stayed at the Hotel Casci for 3 nights. The location was great, easy walk to most sightseeing. The room was comfortable with the best AC we experienced in Italy. Our room was very quiet as far as street noise, but some noise from other guests in the hallway. Paolo was a wonderful host! Had had some excellent restaurant recommendations and had a cab waiting for us when we checked out. The breakfasts were very good. They even put out food early on the morning we left so that we could eat before we caught our flight home. Good choice for our family.

Booked this hotel after reading glowing reviews. These are our overall impressions.
Pros:
Friendly, friendly owners & staff, couldn't have been nicer. They even gave us a gift upon leaving, a calendar. Nice touch. You could leave your bags with them for the day after check-out. Breakfast buffet was good, not the usual nondescript meat & cheese bkfst. There were all kinds of fresh fruit, pastries, cakes, cereal, yogourt, etc. & very good cappuccino. The staff were a bit of a whirling dervish though in the breakfast room & they would place you with other guests, which we didn't care for 1st thing in the morning. There's a small fridge in every room, but no coffee/tea-making equipment. The proximity to attractions was great.
Cons:
Room faced the noisy street. There were 4 sets of windows and shutters to block the sound, which it did. However, you had to close all of these to achieve the result & it left a very dark, closed-in feeling indeed. There's also something wrong with the plumbing. When you flush the toilet you immediately get this intermittent garburator (garbage disposal) sound & it smells like sulpher gas. Very unpleasant. While we didn't hear people noises from the other rooms, we woke up to this garburator sound from the other rooms, flush after flush after flush. Loud & annoying.

Room Tip: Don't choose a room facing the street where you enter the hotel. Really noisy!

My wife and I spent 6 nights at Hotel Casci and what a great location. We arrived in Florence by train and the walk from the station was not too far at all, and the hotel easy to find. We were warmly welcomed and found our room to be very comfortable and perfect for what we needed. Although the bathroom was tiny it was very clean --- and really how long do you spend in the bathroom? The breakfast was plenty and the breakfast room cute. The hotel also is perfectly located for sightseeing, close to the station ,restaurants and shopping. We felt very comfortable at Hotel Casci and would recommend it to other travellers.

On our 12 day Italy tour, we stayed 2 nights at the Hotel Casci. Great location, friendly family service, lots of character (cool hallways), very clean. For a family of 4, we were able to stay in one room, minimizing cost. That being said, there was nothing about this place we didn't like. Very central; you can walk to it from the train station. Highly recommended!

We hadn't had the best start to our holiday in Pisa and arrived in Florence a little downhearted and very weary. As we walked through the doors of this hotel, the welcome we received was amazing. Our bags were taken and as we were too early to check in, we were offered the chance to freshen up in another room. We were given advice and directions on where to go for lunch and our spirits just lifted!

Paolo is simply a wonderful ambassador for this hotel, but all the staff are kind and friendly from the cleaners up to the owners - everyone wants you have enjoy your stay and to have a wonderful time in Florence.

To top it off, the rooms are clean and spacious, the location for sightseeing is perfect - we cannot recommend this hotel more highly!!!

Room Tip: We had a twin room, which was well equipped and quiet, but close to the reception area.

I will add briefly to the rave reviews. The location is perfect, the staff is excellent and provided great recommendations, the rooms are clean and very quiet, and it's one of the few places we could find that could accommodate a family of four in one room. Breakfast is fairly simple but sufficient to get the day started. Book fast because this place is justifiably popular.
