Our recent trip to Italy was made memorable by the owners and staff of the small hotels we stayed in, including the Casci. The room was spotless, warm and comfortable. The owners were always available to answer any questions or give directions. They even made reservations ahead of our arrival for a local museum at our request. Each morning the breakfast selection was presented very nicely in a bright dining area. Don't hesitate to stay at this hotel...I even received gentle coaching on my attempts at speaking a few Italian phrases.

We recently stayed at the Hotel Casci for 4 nights and would highly recommend it. The hotel is located within walking distance of the train station, the Duomo and all of downtown Florence. We never took a cab. The hotel is clean and comfortable, but the best part were the people who run it. It is owned and operated by a family and they go out of their way to make you feel welcome and relaxed. The breakfast is wonderful. The price is very reasonable. I was advised to go there by friends who spent time there several years ago and their recommendation was right on.

We just returned from a three-night stay at the Hotel Casci, our second stay in two years. If anything, the quality of the rooms, especially the bathrooms, has improved since our first stay. And the folks who run it, especially the signora/owner and desk guy PierPaolo, keep an eye out for your happiness and satisfaction.

Compared to other hotels, here's what that attentive service and concern gets you: when something does go wrong, as it did with our hot water supply on the first morning, it was all hands on deck to fix the problem---quickly and effectively. As the problem was being attended to, the signora showed us several other rooms she would move us to immediately in case the problem could not be resolved quickly or if we simply wanted a different room. Now that's concern for the guests!

Another touching note---as we were enjoying breakfast our last morning, the signora was visably upset because a special cake she had delivered every morning for the breakfast had not arrived. She got on the phone with the pastry shop and very pointedly offered to walk down to the Piazza San Marco herself to fetch the cake if it could not be delivered on time.

The cake arrived just as we stepped into the elevator---with the signora following us out the door offering to wrap cake for our voyage. Now that's service!

We stayed at the Hotel Casci in Florence for seven nights in mid-February 2008. The location - right near the Duomo - made getting around Florence very easy. Room was spacious and breakfast was very welcome and ample. But the highlight of Casci were all the hosts who were so very helpful with everything. All of them were very friendly, spoke at least English, French, Italian, Spanish (and probably other languages as well) and made us feel at home. They made reservations for us at the local museums, recommended restaurants and then made the reservations! We would return to Casci again.

The Hotel Casci was the perfect choice for me during my vacation to Florence this past summer. I think many people are hesitant when making reservations in another country. But Hotel Casci lived up to all the reviews I had read. It is a quait hotel with a very homey atmosphere. My room was emaculate and though small, very comfortable. The hotel is very centrally located and this made getting around and seeing the sites much easier.
Pierpaolo was so very helpful and very pleasant ! Whenever I had questions (& I had alot) , needed recommendations for dining , needed directions or anything , he was able to help me. That is invaluable and very reassuring to a foreigner in an unfamiliar country. I was traveling alone so this was even more important to me.
I look forward to a return visit to Florence and will definitely stay here.
