“Sculpture to dream about”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2013

If you fail to be moved by the sculpture in the Bargello, you have no soul. It is truly amazing that a man created these flowing forms from a block of stone. To mis-quote Michaelangelo, the only disappointment is that they do not speak.

“Wonderful Museum in Florence”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2013

You will not be sorry you have visited this very special museum. It is absolutely filled with amazing treasures of Art. Sculptures of wonder. It is not too big so not overwhelming but big enough to be well worth the trip and for you to come away thrilled that you made a visit. I would highly recommend a trip to the Bargello!

“Exquisite statuary”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2013

Have missed this spot on previous trips to Florence, but decided to see it this time. It is a beautiful building with a vast array of statuary and decorative arts. We had hired a local guide, as I am not certain that English language tours were offered.

“Happy to return”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2013

I first saw the collection at the Bargello in 2003 and wanted to revisit. I was not disappointed and, if anything, got more out of this time than before because I had time to focus on particular works rather than being overawed by everything. If you like sculpture then this is the place to go in addition to the Academmia.

“I loved this Museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 1, 2013

I had been dying to see the second commissioned statue of David by Donnatello. and it was breathtaking. The statue is in bronze and quite different from the later David in marble. The rest of the museum was beautiful.
