“Piazza del Duomo”
Reviewed April 18, 2013

You can get alot of great shots here and people watch. Many stores and places to eat. If you walk away from the Duomo you will find better prices, 1-2 euro's less. Great place to visit.

“Like a throbbing heart”
Reviewed April 17, 2013

The piazza really throbbed when we visited - so many people moving about like ants, very long queues to the bell tower and duomo, horses and carriages trying to move amongst thousands of people. There were even queues to the toilet! If you join a queue it;s good to check what queue it is for as it is easy to be in the wrong one.The black and white and coloured facade of the duomo and bell tower were fascinating. Find a good seat and sit and watch the passing parade - you're really in the middle of it. Lots of restaurants and tourist shops nearby.

“Great place to stroll around”
Reviewed April 15, 2013

Take in Florence while walking the historic streets just as they were hundreds of years ago. Linger around and take in some of the sights.

“Great spot to spend a day”
Reviewed April 15, 2013

The piazza is easy to get to and will provide plenty of activities to spend a day admiring the incredible work and art from the Renaissance period. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes close by to provide breaks and meals since there is so much to see and enjoy.

“windy”
Reviewed April 15, 2013

this area around the duomo creates a wind tunnel very breezy , our daughter who lives near there says its always that way. Many outdoor cafes, more expensive than other restaurants due to locations, tourist shops and a couple of banks ,the Bank of Firenze worked with our ATM card , the Tuscan Bank didnt. Lots of street vendors selling scarfs, art, and umbrellas. some begging gypsies.
