“We kept going back”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 28, 2012

A magnifcent piazza that is breathtaking. It seemed like we wound up here every time we went out It has three of the most important religious buildings from the Renaissance, the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore (Il Duomo), Giotto's Bell Tower, and the Baptistry with Ghiberti's bronze doors. Lots of funs stuff located around the piazza also. Great markets, great people watching and the Duomo. Go during the day and then go again at night when it is less crowded. Walk through the little streets around the Piazza and discover old Florence.

“Insane Detail”

Really cool piece of history, that you can sit and stare at for hours, so much detail put into the Duomo! The bells sound cool too!

“Excellent”

Feast for the eye. Massive impressive duomo, bell tower, baptistry, the swarm of people and hawkers all makes a plethora of activity.

“Go Away!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 25, 2012

Nice to wander, but like so many places, the street sellers can be irksome. Sometimes "go away" isn't strong enough. Cafes and bars in Piazza are good for atmosphere, but heavy on the wallet.

“Surreal...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 25, 2012

This is the piazza where all the night action takes place. The Duomo is so gigantic that you have to stand back several blocks to take it all in. The church itself is free to tour and is magnificent. Warning: there are a lot of street vendors hawking glow in the dark trinkets and bad art prints who become annoying to tourists. It's too bad that the polizia can't control them. Lots of shops and good restaurants on every side street.
