Love it!! It was a great expereince to see teh statue and it was way bigger than what i thought it is. You may also want to study a little bit about its story and background before you go to see the great masterpiece of art.

I don't usually go to the main tourist attractions but I'm so glad I saw this one. None of the pictures of the statue do it justice. It is breathtaking and imposing in person. Thankfully they have provided places to sit while you study every detail of this masterpiece.

We were delighted at the sight of David.

I know that you can see a copy but to see the original was really amazing.

Holders of EU passports over 65 can enter free. We reserved our entrance online.

A must see if you are in Florence. I was not expecting too much, just a statue right? But David is huge and very impressive. The attention to detail that Michelangelo had is quite impressive - like you can see the veins in David's arms. We downloaded the Rick Steve's audio Europe guide, which was nice to have when walking through the museum. No photography allowed inside, there are people watching for this.
There are not a whole lot of other things in this museum. There is a collection of unfinished prisoners by Michelangelo which was interesting to see the process of sculpting. Seeing those makes the finished David even more impressive.
