Visited the Marilyn exhibition at Museo Ferragamo on our last morning in Florence and thought it was marvellous. The exhibition was well curated and each themed room contained more and more wonders. I watched the filmshow through twice as it was extremely poignant and the huge close-ups were a reminder of just how beautiful she was. Well worth the five Euro entry!

This was a pleasant surprise. My 19 year old daughter insisted I take her here after three days of art, churches and museums in Florence. The Marilyn Monroe exhibit was interesting and well done. Even for 50+ yr old dad accompanying his daughter. We took our time and looked at each shoe and dress, reading the display stories. It was all fascinating.

Being a Marilyn fan, this was too much to pass by without paying €5 to enter. My wife & I had already seen some of the famous dresses on exhibition in Bath (England) last year but this went above & beyond what I expected (& cheaper). A couple of dresses were expertly copied & you would be hard pressed to know if it was not (honestly) stated. The shoe exhibition was also very interesting & you can see why Salvatore was years ahead of his time. Truely a hidden treasure in Florence. Allow 2+ hours if you are a Marilyn fan. If you are not, still allow 2 hours! Its a shame the security guards were hot on people trying to take photos but you can understand why. Lots of photos, some film clips (the seating was comfy after walking about all morning!) & numourous film/'gossip' magazines of that era. 5 out of 5!

For only 5 euros, this unique museum was a treat. Featured history of Ferragamo shoes and an exhibit about Marilyn Monroe, who owned many custom pairs. I enjoyed the juxtaposition of the photographs of Marilyn with the Greco-Roman artworks that influenced them. Her written work was dark, but definitely intriguing. I enjoyed the mix of the collection from poems to videos to clothing articles- this exhibit had it all. Overall, a great experience without going far or overpaying.
