“Surprised and pleased”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 4, 2014

Stopped in to see the Strozzi on this, our fourth trip to Florence; had not seen it before. They were running an exhibit on Pitorno and Fiorentino, comparing and contrasting their evolution as artists. Very interesting show, and a very nice museum. Check to see what the current exhibit is, but very much recommend considering this as a stop.

“Dont miss Art Exhibits at Palazzo Strozzi in Florence”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 15, 2014

There is lots to see in Florence, but I highly recommend visiting the Palazzo Strozzi during a visit to this Renaissance city, as it features many noteworthy Art exhibits, both contemporary and historic in nature. I was recently in Florence and saw the Pontormo and Rosso Fiorentino exhibit and thought it was beautifully planned and executed. I have seen other shows at the Palazzo Strozzi on previous visits that have been equally well presented. Exhibits change seasonally, so check to see what is currently available. If you like art, you won't be disappointed. Recommended by Melissa Muldoon - la studentessa matta

“Major exhibition reveals Rosso Fiorentino as one of the geniuses of Florentine painting”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 6, 2014

Palazzo Strozzi is a wonderful exhibition space at the heart of historic Florence. I visited the exhibtion on Pontormo and Rosso Fiorentino, two Florentine painters of the 16th century that deserve wider recognition. Pontormo worked for the Medici Court in Florence, Rosso ended up in the court of France. The show concentrates on their work in Italy and exhibits works currently in out of the way churches, thus revealing Rosso as a great genius and visionary, easily to be recognised as one of the greatest painters of the final phase of the Italian Renaissance.

“Rustical stone palazzo”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 2, 2014

The construction of this status symbol of Strozzi Family started in 1498 and remained the seat of the family until 1937 with a 30 years pause when it was confiscated by Duke Cosimo I de Medici. It is a very symmetrical and harmonious building. It is hosting a unique exhibition of the masterpieces of Pontorno and Rosso Fiorentino and another modern exhibition Family matters, portraits and experiences of family today. Very interesting show that analyses family dynamics through photograph and videos. You'll leave the exhibition thinking about your own issues.
