“Foodie heaven”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 23, 2014

Walking round this place I wished I was in a self-catering apartment! The range of fruit and vegetables was astonishing. Great bins of dried mushrooms of different types and grades, dried and crystallised friuts, cooked meats and fresh, wonderful breads, flowers...you get the picture. Oils and vinegars - there is somewhere to get a snack and even a bar. Loved it - a real place doing something brilliantly.

“Wonderful food market”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 9, 2014

This is a great market to shop for fresh food and take home some nice souvenirs. We loved the variety of different cheeses, meats, salamis, fresh pasta, etc. Most stalls have little samples for you to try, if you are a foodie, this is heaven! The selection is just amazing with hundreds of stalls. Definitely not to be missed!

“An experience for your senses”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 6, 2014

From the moment you walk in here you get the feel of a place the locals go to. If you want some food souvenirs or something to take back to your hotel then this is the place for you.
The stallholders are mostly friendly and welcoming and there are many tasters to be sampled on the various stalls. There is also a very clean managed toilet which costs 1 euro if needed.
The best tip here is shop around some, not all of the traders on the outside charge more than those as you go deeper. An example of this was 1 trader has pecorino cheese at 14 euros for a small wedge were when we went further in another sold a block of the same size and quality for 4 euros. I was in a large family group and could have wondered through this place for longer just for the sights, sounds and smells it is an experience for your senses and no visit should be complete without it.

“Awesome Flee Market”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 28, 2014

I uncovered this amazing market by mistake. The market is inside an average sized building near Basilica San Lorenzo. The Market is quite big and has a variety of vendors inside and there are stalls outside the building as well. This is where I found the cheapest souvenirs to buy.

It’s a great market to visit!

“Shop for your lunch here”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 21, 2014

The covered Mercato Centrale in the San Lorenzo area of Florence is a gem. Here, you can buy fruits, vegetables, meat and fish as well as panini, pizza by slice and so much more. It’s truly a foodie haven!
