Lovely architecture...ladies need shoulders covered. Lots of crowds and it was very hot...another must see in Florence.

Santa Croce was my favorite church to tour while in Florence. To see the Giotto triptychs was a wonderful experience as was seeing the final resting places of the likes of Dante, Machiavelli, Michelangelo, and Galileo. Ladies, bring a scarf to wear around your shoulders!

This is a beautiful Basilica with an overwhelming amount to see and take in. I highly suggest the audio guide which allows you to pick and choose what you want to see and learn more about. Michelangelo's tomb was a highlight for me.

So many attractions in this quieter church . Even the tickets are a work of art. Take time to stare at Galileo's and Michelangelo's tombs. Imagine and relive their superb craftsmanship and contribution so such a significant part of history.

This Basilica has some serious security, which is no wonder once you get in and find all the famous names buried here. It's a really beautiful place and fascinating to see all the tombs. We were a bit bummed though because the altar was totally covered in scaffolding. The surrounding area of town leaves a bit to be desired (don't venture too far) and ladies need to make sure they cover their legs, shoulders, etc or they have to buy a "kimono" (i.e. hospital robe) to be allowed in.
