Owner description: This is the richest medieval church in Florence, which features frescoes by Giotto, a chapel by Brunelleschi and one of the finest of all early Renaissance tombs.

Santa Croce is well worth a visit. Although like the other big cathedrals/churches in Florence it is large and empty inside, the altar and the side chapels are breathtaking. The tombs of Galileo, Rossini, Michelangelo and Dante are wonderful. Allowed to take photos, just not with a flash!

Again, with an Italian Tauck guide we visited this Basilica which is the resting place of Michaelangelo. So much history in this beautiful church, which includes devistating floods. A must to visit with a guide

This is a beautiful basillca. We took an audio tour and really enjoyed the art and majesty. After you've seen so many churches they start to run together, but this one was especially memorable. Also, look for the Leather School (not factory - school) that is housed in the basilica (entrance on the side). This school has some of the best quality leather (for sale) in Firenze.

Slightly away from the centre of Florence but very impressive. Some of the most important people in Italian history are buried in the Church, lots to see, some very impressive paintings and structures. Definately worth a visit.

You can find here lots of important people: Michelangelo, Macchiaveli, Galileo Galilei, Dante Aligheri.
Capella Pazzi is also very nice, precisely the ceiling with the constelations.
